For a long time, I was just an edgy atheist. As I lost my edginess I found myself open to spirituality, but ultimately still atheist. Hermann Hesse pushed me over the edge. Luckily, a good friend of mine suggested I read the Upanishads, which opened quite a world for me.

To me: As an almighty, ever present god, what else is there to do than create? Who else is there to be but you? suffering is part of the play of Brahman. A man in heaven would certainly never try to leave. Do good, work incessantly for others, find yourself.

Why did God create this world of great suffering? The answer should apply for any belief system.
There can be no reason why, for any almighty that one may worship can not be compelled by cause. The matter if faith springs forward from this question.
