I once heard this Swedish lady's story of going to a Spanish butcher's to get some bones for her dog & the chaos ensued when she asked "tienen huevos de perro?" 🙃

I disagree slightly, you'll sound a bit toddler & may cause a good laugh. Ms Adult Daughter does this often (un)willingly & we always have a good banter about me murdering "en" & "ett" in Swedish, which is a similar, albeit less comical case 😉

Of course! And I very well know the authors of the paper 😜

But Williford et al "went harder" on igneous intrusion and y'all's new is not keen on that hypothesis right?

Merci! Oh dear, now I have to reconsider all what the mineralogy papers were saying about the margin unit 😉

"We now know that HCl abundances [abundance?] can be between 2 and 8 ppbv and that it exhibits a strong seasonality, appearing when it [during?] the spring and summer in the southern hemisphere, with peak abundances occurring between 200° and 300°. The timing is the most likely may explain [reason?] why these teams were unable to find HCl, but set such low upper limits for the gas"

This was a great brief read, thx for sharing!

This paragraph's legibility was a bit off, but easy to guess what you meant. If there's still a chance for corrections 😉

Digital painting of the Three Forks area of Jezero Crater, with the rover's tracks visible.

Cliché but appropriate Spanish poem by Antonio Machado:
"Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino y nada más;
Caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.
Al andar se hace el camino,
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.
Caminante, no hay camino
sino estelas en la mar."

Thank YOU for all the science, blog posts etc. Even if I read mostly Perseverance-related papers, it doesn't take long to see your name in some author list or references 😉

I see you're a muppet fan, if you haven't yet, I think you may want to see this thread (a couple new additions coming soon)

Mine was only a proof of concept, so I'm glad someone at NASA made a more refined version.
Their version apparently fuses more streams of telemetry to represent the true rover position at very small intervals, while mine was limited to only the Navcam image locations that were interpolated.

3 days I believe is optimistic, coz the navcam images used for navigation don't get uploaded to the NASA image feed, I'm not sure they even get to the data releases, do you know @stim3on.bsky.social ?

Now, if someone wants to add audio... 😉 bsky.app/profile/tomh...
