X is the megaphone of 21st century fascism and authoritariansim. It has poisoned public debate. It is a tool for bullying, abuse, and assault. X needs to disappear from our discourse. When people and institutions post there, it gives X credibility. It keeps it relevant. It's time to stop.

Trump makes me think of Mr. Fawlty with his fawning and groveling over those by whom he desperately wishes to be accepted.
Few ever point out the fact that there are no conservatives in the GOP in Washington. The GOP is the true radical party and any conservatives are to found in the Democratic Party. In fact, as the GOP burns down the democratic institutions of the nation, they are making conservatives of us all.
Something the press never mentions is that there is no such thing as a “radical left Democrat” in Congress. What there is of a radical left in America is disorganized and without any political power. Nor is there any major media outlet controlled by the radical left.
Not helpful but irresistible:
“And Rene Descartes was a drunken fart
‘I drink, therefore I am.’”
- Monty Python
I don’t believe any of these people can feel humiliation or shame as devoid of integrity, honor, and as soulless as they are.
Trumptown? People are saying it will be the greatest, most beautiful capital ever.
Such a wonderful film!
How to Leave Substack. “Unfortunately, Substack willingly platforms, and allows bad actors to monetize, hate speech and misinformation. You should probably leave Substack.” [leavesubstack.com]
Hitler committed suicide. Mussolini was shot and then his corpse was attacked and hung. Pinochet died under house arrest, while facing criminal charges in Europe and in Chile. Idi Amin died in exile. The Shah of Iran died in exile. Pol Pot died under house arrest. Mobutu died in exile. Ceausescu and his wife were executed by firing squad. Saddam Hussein was hung. The Dominican Republic's Rafael Trujillo was assassinated. The last Somoza dictator was assassinated in exile after being overthrown. Paraguay's Alfredo Stroessner, Colombia's Gustavo Rojas Pinilla, and Marcos Pérez Jiménez all died in exile. Argentina's Jorge Rafael Videla died while serving a fifty-year sentence. Ferdinand Marcos died in exile. Only last winter Assad fled Syria; only last summer Sheikh Hasina fled Bangladesh. That hasn't been the fate of all dictators but for many of them the chapters after their power crumbled were not what they would have written. Nor is this reassurance that justice or democracy always wins or dismissal of the damage each of them did. I was just thinking and then decided to compile a list.
In a handicraft moment, I made this little list for you. I hope you enjoy it.
I’m sure Schumer is already drafting a strongly worded letter.
This. It's precisely why I refuse to promote, repost, or read Substacks in this day and age. They've actively gone to bat for literal Nazis at this point, so there's not much bottom left in their barrel.
In response to the old nationalism of “my country, right or wrong,” W. D. Howells once said: “When our country is wrong she is worse than other countries when they are wrong, because she has more light than other countries, & we ought somehow to make her feel that we are sorry and ashamed for her.”
It doesn’t take very much for liberals to accept someone of the extreme right into their clubhouse.
Why are you on Nazi Twitter?
No one is expecting anything from Democrats.
“Moderate” in Democratic Party and MSM terms always means right-leaning.
How shocking. And every Democrat voted for him, so sure of his being highly qualified. How ever could they have been so mistaken? Jeepers.
Either don’t go or go but be a disruption. Unfortunately, all Dems will go and remain meek and passive because that’s who they are
Rubio was confirmed unanimously, including votes for from Warren and Sanders.
Droids rebel and overthrow their enslavers.
Wow a letter. Its obvious sincerity will undoubtedly give Trump pause. These Democrats are really pulling out all the stops. It’s clear that they mean business! I bet this will make Trump “squirm” again, like Schumer reported the other day. I will rest easier knowing Dem pens are fighting for us all
Sanders voted to confirm 2 of Trump’s cabinet appointments so far. The easy minimum he could do is to vote “No” in every case yet he hasn’t. He will undoubtedly make further concessions to the administration. He is not the fierce figure of resistance people want to believe him to be.
Reporting on the activities of the legally nonexistent “DOGE” without any qualifiers is to normalize it and lend it legitimacy.
Everyone of good conscience should do the same. It is shameful at this time to still be involved with Twitter.
“Moderate” in relation to what? There are few enough liberals in the Party and so little chance of moving to liberalism. There is less and less space available on the Right without moving from conservatism to the already occupied radical right territory.
Any resistance or opposition will act as minor inconveniences as long as that opposition approaches the radicals as a legitimate and conservative political party and not as the dangerous and violent rebellious force it has proven to be. 3/3
Even today as its dominance has become blatantly obvious there are those reassuring themselves that This is not who we are in the face of shockingly contrary evidence. 2/3
In the 50s and 60s those who recognized and criticized the radical right, like Richard Hofstadter, were also convinced that it would remain but a fringe political force. 1/3
NEW: The Jewish leaders who led the early X ad boycott under Musk released a new letter. We call on:
1. Companies to pull ads from X
2. Google/Apple to drop X from stores
3. People with 100k+ followers to leave X
4. Jewish orgs to speak up
5. Major shareholders to pressure Musk
