Makes it really hard to see any fruitful future for these things when the VFX team for one of the biggest film franchises of all time that have been on it for at least the franchises entire existence is essentially disbanded for no one's benefit but the new despot in charge and some shareholders.

Always feels like mass layoffs in the mainstream entertainment and tech industries in this decade always happen for different, equally stupid reasons. Change in CEO, mergers, general cost-saving or whatever other meaningless bullshit the top dogs can think of.
Cinephiles will be like "this is my favourite movie. It's really bad."
Going to bed now and just got an email that YouTube Premium is raising its price from 13.99 to 15.99. That's just fucking amazing. Just what I needed in regards to my near nonexistent income.
The new VERY hagriographic Michael Jackson biopic starring MJ's nephew is out at the end of the month. But back in 2004 an unauthorised and EQUALLY flattering biopic was made in Canada. Here is a clip and I promise you have NO idea where it's going. I haven't done a single edit here.
I forever see posts like 'what movie needs a sequel?' 'what movie needs a reboot?' 'what movie needs an animated series?'
You know what more stories would really benefit from? An ending.
Watched Southland Tales for the first time tonight and this shows up in the opening prologue.
It’s not just annoying at this point; there’s a profound blind spot in media reporting where arts coverage isn’t even worth taking note of.
How is it pushing 80 degrees on March 10? Climate change is real. You can't convince me otherwise.
Law Roach is a 10 minute adult swim series that aired from 2004-2006 and still maintains a very extensive and detailed wiki
On a lighter note, the new Gorillaz album is excellent. Might be their best since Plastic Beach.
Just remembered how Netflix's internal animation unit went through a bunch of layoffs and exits only a few years back without having much to show for itself. It really seems like the LA film/TV industry has been circling the drain for the majority of this decade and it won't get better anytime soon.
The Netflix deal would also have been shit if it went through, but at least they weren't going to get the whole pie. Speaking of that, I'm guessing that WB and Discovery spinoff is not happening anymore.
Think of it this way: we won't have to figure out what happens when Cartoon Network Studios is separated from Cartoon Network. But with Paramount owning Paramount Animation, Skydance Animation, WB Pictures Animation, WB Animation, CN Studios, HB Studios Europe, Nick Animation...
Other than that, get ready for more subsidiaries to close or get consolidated and a fuck ton more layoffs to occur. Also, don't expect any movies like Sinners or One Battle to get made any time soon. Anything to do with HBO, CN, DC are also at risk. I could go on.
CNN and most mainstream news networks haven't been good for a long time and have been slowly getting more extremely right-leaning for years now. This merger will just accelerate that a teensy bit more if I had to guess.
Seeing a lot of people right now emphasizing CNN getting taken over by Bari Weiss or whoever and not enough people seeing how much worse this merger will be when you look at everything else that Psky is getting.

I mean, whatever it takes to get the funding to restore the next dozen or so European art house films.
KPop Demon Hunters getting a Criterion Collection release before any film from Satoshi Kon, Ralph Bakshi, Mamoru Oshii, Don Bluth or Sylvain Chomet might actually kill me.
Kpop Demon Hunters getting into the Criterion Collection. Fuckin lol
I almost forgot about it because the media just straight up stopped talking about it altogether like a month after it happened. Checking the weather app due to the blizzard made me remember this and I just got mad all over again. That capitulation from these companies was a warning mang. (2/2)
I just thought about how it's been over a year since Trump took office again and the Gulf of Mexico is still called the Gulf of America on my weather app because of Google's capitulation to that executive order he signed. (1/?)
The reddit fans who did this are deeply obnoxious. Just saw one saying shows don't belong to the creators but the audience so the audience should decide what happens???
Like even a great audience doesn't mean they GET AUTHORITY OVER THE PERSON WHO MADE IT.
things woud go fucking crazy if me and an open minded woman got up to some bisexual Shit
