I tend to prefix with a v. So foo_v1_5 but otherwise the same. And I don’t think about it twice, use the separators that are available and roll with it. 🤷
Black Magic Debug is now officially moved to #codeberg! We put together a blog post describing how you can redirect your cloned repositories, continue working on your PRs, as well as some reasoning behind the move. 🧳
Let us know if you have questions or comments! :)

A Video impression of the #NoKings 3 march in #Springfield #Oregon It was a nice sunny spring day. The turn around was a good way to see the massive amount of people that joined the protest! #nokings3 #resist #resistence
This would be incredibly easy to foresee for everyone who managed to realize what fuel is and that renewable technologies do not require fuel to operate but y'know thinking isn't popular these days.
We did it! We moved Black Magic Debug project to Codeberg! 🎉

Thank you #codeberg for all the hard work to offer an alternative! Onwards and upwards! 🚀
I had no idea that one day a Technology Connections video will make me emotional. But here we are. I really hope this reaches a lot of people that need to hear this and helps at least a little bit to make this place a little better for the long term. *big sigh*
If you call yourself apolitical and expect others and their youtube content to be apolitical. This is a video for you. Take your time, get a snack, and watch the full F’in video… you might actually learn something for once. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtQ9...
@techconnectify.bsky.social thank you for the most recent video. I did not expect to end up being emotional at the end. But here we are. You put things in words that I could not have.
On her livestream tonight, #IL09 candidate Kat Abughazaleh teased what appears to be a new 60-second-long campaign ad
🎉 #Teardown2026 will be happening 24-26th July.
We're in a cool new space: the Jupiter on Burnside. Our 60s mall era is dead, long live our 60s motel era.

We always need to rest and make sure our hearts are calm and ready for their return whenever that might be. :) (on a bit more serious note I find listening to writers and how they manage inspiration quite educational)
Have you taken a break yet? It is important to stand up, walk, look out of the window or even better go on a walk. :) you can start when the muse is inspiring you :)
The language is only divisive if you are trying to put your head in the sand and pretend like everything is ok about this new and probably biggest bubble in history that will end up hurting everyone in tech when it bursts. Endorsing it only helps inflate it.
It is pretty well documented at this point that the LLMs are trained on indiscriminate scraping of the data with no regard to licensing and the creator use wishes. In essence theft. The data-centers are using excessive amounts of natural resources with no regard to people or pollution. Thus immoral.
If you want a dietary choice comparison. This is more comparable to: "A big corporation comes up with low cost, nutritious and very tasty new product called Soylent Green. People love it, it makes them more productive." and then trying to be nuanced about it :/
It is disappointing to see this stance towards AI from you. Harassment of any kind is wrong, but pointing out that using AI is immoral, based on theft and no one should in their good conscience use it is another. You are saying that its use is encouraged at Oxide. This is not what I expected :(
kicad PCB layout with footprints and traces overlaid on a scanned photo of a circuit board about the size of a US legal sheet of paper
I've been busy trying to reverse engineer a fairly complicated circuit board.
I have a special project in the works. Time to cut MDF!
Green Black Magic Probe v3.0 JTAG/SWD debugger and programmer with a built in GDB server. Mounted on top of a carrier board that provides a regular ARM Cortex debug connector and 0.1” pitch breakout pins for the debug lines and the AUX expansion connector. It also features a jumper to allow TPWR connection to the debug connector allowing the choice of how things are powered.
A 3D rendering of the BMP and debug carrier board.
The debug carrier being reflown on a miniware hot plate. (The bigger one not the original tiny one)
For Black Magic Probe v3 development, I designed a little breakout carrier. We will likely spend some quality time with a debugger hooked up to it so I think it will be a worthwhile. The SMT threaded inserts are really nice. I also 3D printed a base to keep the TH pins from scratching the table. ;)
This is a grassroots campaign:
“Abughazaleh reports over $1.1 million in individual contributions under $200, making up around 74% of her contribution totals.
In contrast, over 90% of Biss’ campaign contributions come from big-money donations of over $200.”

Hey everyone! Tune in to @katmabu.bsky.social stream either on YT or Twitch. They are trying to prove that streams are better way to spend time of candidates than calling rich people for donations. Let's show their theory is correct! :) Consider donating at secure.actblue.com/donate/katst...
Seattle No Kings from the monorail
A Video impression of the #NoKings 2 march in #Eugene #Oregon It was a really pretty autumn day. Lot's of patriotic people came out. I hope you get some good vibes from it as I did. :) #nokings2 #resist #resistence
NoKings protesters. Some of the signs: “Due Process for All”, “Willie Nelso for President”, “Dump the Trump”. But the biggest one is carried by a person dressed in blue scrubs. Carries a “Operation Game” styled sign. A cartoon Donald trump is on the operating table and has a bunch of annotations. “Bird Brained Idiot”, “Forked Tongue Liar”, “Mean Hearted Bully”, “Taco Tits”, “Small D—K Energy”, “delusional Dictator”, “Cankles Crime King” he is holding also a crown in his hand.
More signs in the crowd. “I have a dream”, with police arresting Trump.
More people, “Hate will not make us great”
Long road full of people marching.
Some photo impressions from #nokings in #eugene #oregon It was _SIGNIFICANTLY_ bigger than NoKings 1 and way more cars were honking too! #nokings2 #resistance #resist
Caricature of a crazed Stephen Miller, holding a “naked cat”/“little baby” Donald Trump with empty eyes on his lap. Miller is pressing his vampire claws into Trumps back. On Stephen’s arm is a red armband with a part of a circle suggesting a “certain party” affiliation. The picture has a subtext “Peewee German’s Pet” which is a play on words with “Peewee Hermann” who was a US American comedy character known for being small and childlike. In the right lower corner is the date October 18th, 2025, the day of the second No Kings protest.
I feel bad involving Germans in any of this. But it works in the US context very well to convey a message. (see alt text for description) #nokings #nokings2 #protest #USA
Merge pull request dropdown: * Create merge commit * Rebase then fast-forward * Rebase then create merge commit * Create squash commit * Fast-forward only
I might be using codeberg (aka. forgejo) more in the future. I am unreasonably excited to see how many merge options it offers, but mainly "fast-forward only" is in there! ❤️ Why can't I have it on GitHub 💔
Nightly got the ability to resize avg graphics in place. That is definitely a step forward in the right direction. :)
