If not for Trump, what's the emoluments clause for? What's impeachment for? What's the 25th Amendment for? What's section 3 of the 14th Amendment for? What are checks and balances for?

The baddies are cherrypicking the Constitution the same way they do the bible: for their own benefit.

The Germans have an apt word for people like Vance--Backpfeifengesicht. It means "a face in need of a punch." Vance's only two facial expressions are smirk and sneer.

The NYT big expose on SCOTUS today pairs well with @ariberman.bsky.social and @pemalevy.bsky.social's cover story on how ~everything wrong with this country today can be laid at the feet of John Roberts: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Jamal is too nice to say "utter hypocrisy," but that's what this is.

Today's #SCOTUS treats *all* coercive relief against the executive branch as imposing irreparable harm on the government. For that proposition, they cite a 2014 opinion by ... Chief Justice Roberts.

Its absence here is deafening.

The Inside Story of Five Days That Remade the Supreme Court

it is, among other things, incredibly striking to see that roberts was so solicitous of the burden the clean power plan might put on fossil fuel executives, when, a decade later, he is indifferent to the way trump’s moves have thrown hundreds of thousands of lives into turmoil.

These people have the chutzpah to demand our respect while being the most corrupt & authoritarian group of public servants this country has ever seen. It’s long past time to remind them of who they are & who they serve.

👇🎯 Yes but it needs to go further:

- No shadow docket
- No clerks
- No building
- Riding the circuit

We can debate necessary structural reforms like more seats & such. But first, immediately, the next Congress needs to strip these Wizards In Robes of every perk & power not explicitly in Art. III.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas blasts progressivism as threat to America He said that the values enshrined in the 1776 Declaration of Independence have “fallen out of favor” among Americans.

Oh, Justice Thomas, you see. “progressivism” as the main threat to the “Declaration of Independence and hence our form of government”? I’ve got some other candidates.

Cardinal Cupich: "We're dehumanizing the victims of war by turning the suffering of people & killing of children & our own soldiers into entertainment. To splice together movie cuts w/ actual bombings & targeting of people for purposes of entertainment is sickening. This is not who we are."

Opposition leader Péter Magyar at a rally.

Orbán's electoral crushing is a far greater achievement than most people outside Hungary realise.

He systemically consolidated power for 16 years, fixed the electoral map, abused govt power for political purposes & censored media.

The hurdles that Hungarians overcame for this moment were immense.

A screenshot of an opinion by Oliver Kornetzke from August 18th, 2025. There’s a photo of a tired, bloated Donald trump over the opinion that reads: behold. The festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill fitting suit: the sleeves of economy, man, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a clansman, the sexism of a back alley creep, and the greed of a hedge fund ghoul – all spray painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a country fair. Not a president. Not even a man. Just the diseased distillation of everything this country swears it isn’t but has always been – arrogance dressed up as exceptionalism, stupidity passed off as common sense, cruelty sold as toughness, greed, exalted as ambition, and corruption worship like gospel. It is America’s shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol, proving that when a nation kneels before money, power, and spike, it doesn’t just lose its soul – it shits out this bloated, obscenity, and calls it a leader.

Pending before the Supreme Court are three disparate cases, each with the potential to remake rules on district boundaries, campaign finance and the eligibility of certain mail-in ballots. These rulings, issued in the middle of the election season, could potentially confound voters, scramble overworked and threatened election administrators, and alter campaign strategies in the middle of heated election contests. And depending on how the justices rule, these decisions may have cascading effects including new court challenges, legislative changes and even more uncertainty in the months before the midterms.

The justices can avoid this confusion entirely. In June 1964 the court issued a landmark decision in Reynolds v. Sims that helped cement the principle of “one person, one vote.” Yet the ruling made clear that it need not be applied to that fall’s fast-approaching elections. Whatever this court ultimately decides on the merits in these cases, it should apply the same principle.

I'd really like to see leadership calling for impeachment and removal, regardless of whether they have the votes to get it done. Same way we called for marriage equality before we had the votes. A leader's job is to lead. If a genocidal threat isn't impeachable, then nothing is.

"This is what you get when you elect Republicans."

Every Dem within 100 feet of a camera needs to be saying this repeatedly.

Every time we elect Republicans, we get dumbass wars, tax cuts for rich people, and financial crises. Every time.

Fucking say it!

Trump v. United States and the Citizens United decisions of this SCOTUS will go down in history with Dred Scott as among the court's worst. They may seem removed from where we are today...but they are not.

In an age of creeping relativism, a universal moral law still exists.

Threatening to end an entire civilization of 90 million people in order to bend a nation’s conduct to your will is grossly morally wrong. It is evil. And we should say this loudly.

This is an actual post. This is not funny. This is beyond desperate. This is a deeply unwell man who doesn’t belong anywhere near the levers of power. Every member of his cabinet and Congress is complicit in not demanding his removal now.

The Iranian embassy in Iran quote tweets Trump's insane 'Fuckin Strait tweet with the comment:

"This low level of civility and intelligence shown by a leader of a country is regrettable; the shameful fervor with which intentions to commit war crimes are repeated is staggering; and the fact that the Divine is invoked regardless of ill intentions clearly exposes deep fanaticism. Apologies for sharing this language."

Trump's tweet reads: "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP"

Crazy to think it would only take like 10 Republicans to flip to impeach Trump. And yet they are too cowardly even though this war is unpopular with 75% of the country. 🇺🇸

Never vote Republican again. Ever.

Trump doesn't own the White House. He doesn't own the legal system. He has no right to ignore the Constitution. He doesn't own NATO or America's historic allies. He doesn't own the military. He doesn't own the U.S. Treasury.
