Today we celebrate the lives of trans people and the part they play in our workplaces, unions, and communities. We also acknowledge that vicious transphobic attacks masquerading as legislation force our families, coworkers, and friends to contend with stark choices about where and how they can live.
UFCW 3000 will be joining the Washington Fair Trade Coalition at this event to build solidarity to create a better world for us all. Sign up in the link below!

Seattle is a union town & King county is a Union County! Our home grown Co-op needs to do right be their workers! “They’re disrespecting the very workers that made them profitable,” @reiunion.bsky.social @ufcw3000.bsky.social @girmayzahilay.bsky.social @knkx.org

Today, REI workers announced their next steps to win a union contract after overwhelmingly rejecting an inadequate offer and management refusing to return to the table with a fair deal.
REI loves to sell itself as forward-thinking, but its actions tell a different story.

This week, we're spreading the word about our fight to reclaim our co-op from administrators who want to turn our stores into cookie-cutter chains. PCC workers are demanding an end to outsourcing the deli, good wages for sustainable staffing so we can deliver the level of service customers deserve.
An investigation last year by Groundwork Collaborative, Consumer Reports and More Perfect Union found that Instacart, a grocery delivery service, was secretly employing AI pricing software to conduct hidden price experiments on consumers. The report found price discrepancies between consumers could leave some families paying up to $1,200 more a year.

If you’ve never heard of surveillance pricing or surge pricing, you are not alone. But both practices have crept into retail operations, leading lawmakers in Washington state to take action this legislative session. House Bill 2481, sponsored by Rep. Mary Fosse, D-Everett, and a host of other House Democrats, aims to rein them in.
Surge pricing refers to retailers changing the price of a product based on demand. Surveillance pricing, on the other hand, involves companies collecting consumer data to build individual profiles and using AI to set personalized prices depending on the consumer.
Imagine you’re at the grocery store with a friend. You buy the same item, but companies have collected data about you and your shopping habits, so you end up paying more than your friend. The difference may not be huge, but it is noticeable, and it can add up.
Stop the price gouging in grocery stores. Tell your State Representative to support HB 2481 today!
A grey toned slide with text: Why you should be paying attention to Pricing Experiments. Based on the average variations we say, for a household of 4, these hidden price shifts could mean a difference of about $1,200 more a year on groceries.
If grocery corporations get their way, a typical household in would pay $1200 per year MORE in groceries, according to an investigation from Consumer Reports. HB 2481 will stop this price gouging at grocery stores. Tell your state rep to support HB 2481 today! app.leg.wa.gov/districtfind...
