Thanks to everyone who weighed in on this on Substack and in my original, accidentally deleted post about it here. It’s a very short read. (I didn’t know I was capable of a short read.)

Thanks for posting the original. I had not heard it before and love it. That said, I love both versions. Janis had a raw vocal sound that made this song sound really intense to me, at least.
I don’t have Omen opinions, but thanks for sharing the expression. I’m Southern but had never heard that one.
Yet another photo of a seemingly irritated orange cat
I would swear in a court of law (should I ever be called to do so) that this cat likes me.
I looked quickly but found a Vic Chesnutt must listen already.
No!!! Did you like the first two seasons?
Agreed, but for some fellow Texans, this might be a year-round situation.
A decorative patriotic bird on a drugstore shelf for $4.99. The red, white and blue pompom on its head is a nice touch.
You need this decorative bird at Walgreens, you know you do.
And some of us got too approving nods from record store clerks and became one.
Your turntable setup is very tidy, giving just the right space to the album cover. Ours is more chaotic. Will check out the record. Thanks!
A very stern orange cat
And sometimes after every little thing you do, they’ll look at you like this.
Almost 500 people have pressed play on the podcast. And I don’t have 450+ friends. I’ve read that YouTube starts to suggest videos after 400 views. Watch, comment, or share if it’s of value to you and help it reach fellow caregivers. Here’s to normalizing caregiving!

Sigh.
I’m reading the excellent Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick. It’s about North Korea. So much is disturbing here, but on my lazy Sunday where I can float and putter, I read this sentence, “…apartment buildings were equipped with loudspeakers in the individual units to broadcast community notices.”
Yes! He even has a calendar. We have some postcards.
Ok on the bird butt kick, are you familiar with the work of Tommy Siegel?
A very stern orange cat
He loves me. He so loves me not. This cat gives stern face better than most.
My first thought was that she will be a very interesting mother.
Last night, I was like 90 years old when I had to go to the car in the middle of a great Dead Meadow show to sleep.
She’s amazing. I just saw some of her work in a surrealist exhibit in Dallas. It was hard to walk away.
Sleeping orange cat with paw on his head
If this Dead Meadow show goes past 9 p.m., this is gonna be me.
How cool! Happy birthday!
I’m looking forward to my week. It’s my husband’s birthday week. We usually focus on experience presents but I also bought him a glow-in-the-dark sweatshirt from an illustrator he loves. If I get somewhere on my creative project tonight, I’ll feel even better starting the week. What about you?
I worked in college radio too, and we had a volunteer screening team to help and everything, and it was still difficult to catch. Palace Brothers almost got by me once.
View from the top of a photo cube that says Happy Mother’s Day with a photo of three people, two with hands on another’s shoulder. The original photo could be nice, but the photo cube looks sinister to me, especially from the top and especially at a mall gift kiosk.
Anyone else creeped out by those custom photo cubes at the mall?
Thanks for posting. Somehow I had never heard of her.
