It sounds like it was the dad’s decision or at least he was in on it. It’s hard to believe so many people were in on it, including siblings. That’s his whole life in captivity and there were enough people involved that someone should have intervened.

I had a Con Air movie night at grad school where I invited all the gals to come over my place watch it and eat pizza. I love that movie!

People really need to work on their titles. This one really scared me for a minute.

Old oak tree with twisted branches in autumn woodland of ancient oaks

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. Please repost if you agree 🌳

Costco scares me. I go sometimes but someone else needs to drive me there.

Every time I see Casey Affleck in a movie I think “there’s something sinister about this guy.” And I don’t just mean the characters he’s playing. These are my thoughts after watching Interstellar.

I love survival movies! One of my top favorites is The Martian and tonight I’m watching another favorite, The Mountain Between Us. What’s your favorite survival movie?

Reputation by Sarah Vaughan adds a very good and believable social media angle to the plot.

Sabbatical reading has commenced.

I’m watching The Undoing for the first time, halfway through episode 5, and Grace is so annoying and terrible. I get that the show is about her buying into his BS since the title of the book is called “She Should Have Known” but it is still so sad to see her willing to blame the dead woman’s husband

I still enjoy the reading I do, thankfully it’s all very interesting! Yes, it’s really bad when we combine no reading with all the social media posts people consume, especially YouTube and TikTok influencers selling misinformation. It’s how we get really dumb things happening in our country.

It’s funny because I read books all the time for work but I don’t often say or think of myself as a reader because for fun I watch movies and tv shows. But yeah I would seriously be worried if someone wasn’t reading anything at all.

I’m embarrassed to say that I was persuaded by some of the negative publicity on her. That said, I absolutely believe her. And this is a great example of how social media gets weaponized.

If I go to the store for something and it’s locked up, I leave and go elsewhere or order it online. It’s ridiculous to lock it up.

My two year old has been asking “what’s that” many times throughout the day these last few days and I love it. I always answer as fully as possible. I absolutely want to encourage her curiosity and learning. I feel like our society constantly shuts down our inquisitiveness.
