Australia, UK, France, Germany & Italy urged Israel to abandon its death penalty for terrorists bill. It passed & will apply almost exclusively to Palestinian defendants. We trust Australia will keep pressing Israel to repeal it. Israeli civil society is already challenging it in the High Court.
Join our side event at the #CN69 to discuss progress and challenges in the efforts to end the death penalty for drug offences.

20 years ago today, Australian man Van Nguyen was executed in Singapore. He was 25.
Two decades on, Singapore's mandatory death penalty continues - 2025 is the deadliest year since 2003. Our latest newsletter examines Van's legacy and the constitutional challenge happening now.
