“…the backlash was so great that residents ousted half their city council after they approved a $6 billion data center development against the public will.”
AND DOLLY
Me and Emmylou (and a little Jameson) on the deck this afternoon
“Looking For Mercy” is a nice listen
I did like the bit I heard. It seems to have more of a throughline to the M that I grew up with, for whatever you can tell from a first partial listen lol
Maybe I’m not patient enough 🤷
“I Don’t Search I Find” remains the sleeper hit, irresistible in any of its versions. But I just skipped like 5 tracks to get to it
In anticipation of the new Madonna single, I went back and pulled up ‘Madame X’ again. I don’t dislike it as much as I did seven years ago, but it remains an absolute drag, weighty and unbearably self-serious. I really hope Price has helped her find her groove.
That sounds promising. I’m also seeing a new Beth Orton single today 🥰
I didn’t know when I was young what a high premium I would place on solitude and relative silence. There is so little to be found.
My favorite shirt is a gray tank top I bought randomly before a trip at Old Navy in the ‘90s. It still fits and it’s still in good shape, and I spend ridiculous amounts of time some Sundays trying to find it in deadstock lots lol
The only way to be 🔥
I am that guy
Sometimes I wonder how many albums I wasn’t open to because I was listening in the wrong environment
Two wolves etc and so forth
We are being told to treat open antagonism and abuse as curiosity
Also it leads quite well into either of the most recent Ruston Kelly albums
Hindsight being what it is, it’s easy to see what a brave and bold move it was within the throughline of Grant’s discography, yet unlike today’s chronic oversharers, the weight of knowledge of her personal life in no way weighs down the songs upon revisiting. TL;DR: I’m a fan
Listening to Amy Grant’s ‘Behind the Eyes’ while I make Sunday brunch is about as overtly religious as I get these days, but man does this record ever hold up in 2026.
They should build a section of hell that’s just when you’re pushing a grocery cart, but it doesn’t want to roll and you just keep whacking your shin on the metal over and over again. Free tip satan
This is evolution’s way of ensuring slutdom survives into future generations sir 🫡
hahahahah ahhaha haaa
Yeah— I mean in her day, her music was incredibly catchy radio filler. But come on. Why is it so hard for publicists, etc., to come up with positive descriptors that actually ring true? For every Whitney, there can also be a Janet iykwim
Love her— You know that. I even like most of this album. But that song is hot garbage, cannot even begin to parse what they were thinking in making it a single.
(On the other hand it gave her a 3rd Top 20 hit from a single album for the first time since the ‘80s, so what do I know!)
OR waking up to unbridled enthusiasm for The Miniature Wife after visited by three spirits. Who can say
ABC all night, no regrets! Even Moonlighting sounds like a banger
THE BIG G WE LOVE HERRRRR 🔥
Good deal 🫡
Will try to remember that!
