A perfect example of a magazine trying to claim artistic legitimacy by canonizing the stock example of everything they've written about.

@starwarsexplained.com mentioned some similarities to Dark Knight, the first speeder chase in particular. I see that although it’s missing the cop in the passenger seat saying every chase scene cliche in film history. The city gives some Blade Runner vibes as well.

One would think his very existence, let alone his position, is the final proof needed that deities don’t exist. Any of them.

You do know that revolutions don’t have to be violent? There’s plenty of examples of successful nonviolent revolutions that used these exact tactics of protest, noncooperation, economic boycott and civil disobedience. You may be actually witnessing one, just not by your definition or desire.

The troops fighting Hitler had USO shows and movies still got made. Fucking hell man, get a hobby that doesn't involve pissing off the people who actually agree with you. Your desperation to be ideologically superior to everyone else is fucking sad. Therapy, son. Live it, love it.

Congratulations, you're the poster boy about why we lose all the time. Killjoys like you who have successfully annoyed this country into fascism. Can't take people like you anywhere because you annoy everyone who isn't in full blown fight mode all the time. Ghandi took breaks, so did King.

The 50th anniversary of Star Wars deserves a massive celebration at SWCLA. Not just a panel, something epic, beyond any expectations. I have a good idea what that could be. I have no idea who to contact at LFLM to pitch it. If anyone can help me I’d be forever grateful.

She was openly saying she would only rely on urban liberals and the statewide black vote. That's a losing strategy in Texas. Maybe it works in a blue district like hers but it doesn't in the entire state. Allred proved that in '24. He ran a horrid campaign. The only thing that matters rn is winning.

So you're saying that it's more important to put up a candidate that has less of a chance of winning just to claim ideological "purity"? She lost because she ran a bad and frankly cynical campaign. She attracted few if any new voters compared to Talarico and had no plans to try and get any.

democrats not voting for her because they don’t want to vote for a black woman, park that shit. Bottom line, she ran a shit campaign, she lost. Significantly. I voted Talarico because I want to win. That’s it.

galvanized the right to come out. Voter turnout was incredibly bad on the GOP side, a lot of them are planning on sitting this one out. Her candidacy would have changed that. They HATE her, because she’s black, a woman, and clearly smarter than they are. It isn’t about Texas

I don’t remember Talarico EVER saying that and the folks spreading that bullshit are hurting our chances to win. I could give a fuck about her race or gender, and if she had won I’d have voted for her in a heartbeat. What I, and many others are saying, is that she would have

Electability is a legitimate reason to vote for someone. The GOP was hoping she would win because while Cornyn/Paxton are not loved, having the opportunity to vote AGAINST Crockett would bring out disillusioned republicans planning to stay home in November.

The polling was completely skewed for Crockett. They were polling "likely Democratic voters". Nothing new and of course she was going to poll well with urban liberals. Talarico isn't just courting them, he's going for the whole state. He's got a real shot at winning this.

An advanced degree or any at all is unimportant compared to what a persons motivation and character are. There are plenty of people with phd's who are total assholes.

Cornyn has been calling Talarico “dangerous” because he’s a Presbyterian. Every GOP pollster says he’s the one they feared, and Talarico’s actual voting record is more leftist than hers. GOP wanted her because she galvanizes the right to vote against her. They saw her as the key to a GOP win.
