She learned about the #MetallicaScholars Initiative from her teacher, applied, and was awarded the scholarship! The result? “Now I can study calmly without the stress or fear that I wouldn't be able to take my exam until I had enough money to pay for the fee.”
Already studying in Central Piedmont Community College’s Medical Laboratory Technology program, Sofia was scrambling to secure the money necessary to pay for board exam fees, a requirement for her certification. Though she had a job, her employer could not provide a steady work schedule.
“I love the hands-on approach of learning, especially when we are ready to test for mastery levels.”
Trey aims to open his own shop one day. With his work ethic and momentum, we’re sure he’ll make that a reality!
His dedication to the program—always among the first in the lab, requesting extra time when needed, and thoroughly completing every module—has even caught his professor’s attention! This commitment is fueled by Trey’s appreciation for the way the material is presented.
“I always had a drive to work on and fix cars.” Trey is one of our Automotive Technology #MetallicaScholars at Texas State Technical College, and he is making the most of his education.

We are proud to support Cameron and so many others like him who are putting in the work and investing in their own future.
Having overcome significant personal and financial challenges, Cameron is dedicated to using his #MetallicaScholars funding to secure a brighter future for both himself and his mother. He aspires to break the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck and give back to his community.
Cameron is pursuing his dream of supporting his family and honoring his late grandmother's passion for flight with a career in aviation through Guilford Technical Community College’s Aviation Manufacturing program.

While the heaviest rains have passed, flash floods remain possible in the coming days.
We’re proud to join friend of the Foundation Jason Momoa and the many organizations and individuals working to provide critical relief and recovery assistance to the islands.
Hawaii is facing the worst flooding it’s seen in more than two decades, leaving the islands suffering an estimated US$1B in damage statewide. The torrential rains, saturated soil, and surging rivers have ravaged hundreds of homes and farms across the island.
All Within My Hands is granting $125,000 to flood relief efforts in Hawaii through three local organizations: the Hawaiian Council, the Lāhui Foundation, and Hui O He’e Nalu.

"This generous donation fuels our broader mission to empower women to build their lives beyond crisis. Thank you for standing with us as we work to break the cycle of gender-based violence.”
We are honored to support your efforts to provide women and children with safety, support, and hope.
“This $40K grant helped sustain our weekly food support, children’s programming, & other essential services, alongside our work to end gender-based violence. While Nellie's is best known as an emergency shelter for women & their children escaping violence, we know that safety alone isn't enough."
During the #M72Toronto stop in 2025, @metallica.com and #AWMH contributed to local organization Nellie's. Nearly one year later, let’s take a look at what Nellie’s has been able to accomplish with that money in our latest #FollowUpFriday.

To further expand access, ECC plans to place mini-pantries in all six academic buildings on the Union campus and the ECC Rolla location, ensuring convenient, stigma-free access to essential food resources.
ECC Wellness Services also manages a campus food pantry that supplies canned and non-perishable items for students in need, including pet food for those with furry companions.
“Food for Falcons” offers a free lunch to students Monday through Thursday through the dining services department on the ECC Union campus. Between July 1, 2025, and October 29, 2025, the program served 1,695 meals, and nearly 4,000 meals were provided during the past academic year.
At East Central College, food insecurity remains a barrier for many of its students. To help ensure their needs are being met, ECC operates two key programs to provide immediate support.
