If you want to add an almost 20 year old book about out of date software, c’est moi: www.amazon.com/Learning-Joo...
Didn’t realize we already had that many.
Ate the last of our meal prepped and frozen chicken tacos. I don’t season them until we do the reheat, so we can always adjust to what we’re feeling that day. Today called for chicken stock, wine, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, season salt, and just a little bit of chipotle powder.
An aside:
“Microsoft took the “Copilot” brand and used it across all of their product lines”

10s: “in the cloud!”
20s: Copilot

Many, many years ago, I went on a weekend retreat with a bunch of PHP developers in this huge cabin. Good memories. That was the only time I’ve been, so I haven’t been there with kids though.
A couple of years back, we had a blizzard on the way, so I called in to ask about my eye appointment and was told “sir, I have worked here 25 years and we have never closed for snow.”
Got an automated call at 4:50pm that day asking to reschedule.
“I’ll put this with the other ideas over here”
Within one week, I’ve learned two *unrelated* things:
1. Under new rules, I may now be eligible for Canadian citizenship based on ancestry.
2. This video was made by the United States government with my tax money.
A graphic in pink, blue, and green that illustrates how recent many Black History events are to the current day -- ranging from 1619 to 2024.
I'm sure we've all seen the graphic that lays out the United States ' relationship with slavery. It's good, but I never thought it was quite impactful enough. So I made my own.
I've used a few key events, including my birth, to highlight how recent these events are in history.
1 square = 1 year.
If I had a nickel for every time someone insisted an open-source alternative was “just as good” as proprietary software, I could retire.
My first time in the desert was hiking in NM at Bandelier National Monument. We drove through the middle of the night, so my first time seeing the desert was dawn. They don’t call it The Land of Enchantment for nothing 🤩

Truth. You do not have to be sad today if you don’t want to let someone continue to make you feel alone and sad.
Thanks for doing this! I got some money from lost + found from when I lived in Texas and donated it to the GFM on the Minnesota site
We’re an Apple/android split couple, so Apple Notes and Reminders are out. Will check the others
🙌
Many public libraries across the US do! Check with your library to see if it’s available.

Speech to text in the Voice Memos app transcribes Claude Opus as “Claude Ope”.
You’d think that for all the AI out there, Google Maps wouldn’t suggest a Thai restaurant opening at 5pm for the query “brunch”
:lolsob:
yes.
People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.
www.5calls.org
walks you thru it and the phone numbers are clickable
you do not need to read the scripts, you can if you want. one sentence plus your identity info for verification is frankly enough.
I will, can you *69 them so I can call them back?
I’ll have to see if this’ll work for Grand Rapids
