Ahhh, I guess i was confused by this much older blog post.

near the end, it said

"You’ll be able to choose from several other playable races for your Hytale avatar." So i'm assuming that was part of the original plans since it was pre-riot.

Out of curiosity, are multiple playable races still planned? Running around as Kweebec or Feran would be fun :0

Even that's a shame though because they're still locked behind an online subscription. I hope #Gamefreak considers giving the stones out as mystery gifts or something later on down the line, because making megas walled off is a benefit to absolutely no one.

I will say, it's a shame #pokemon decided to put the kalos starter megas behind a PVP wall. The only way that works in my opinion is if they're an easy to obtain early tier reward.

I'll give the #nintendodirect an A. Seeing metroid was nice, I was wrong about MD but seeing #pokopia was refreshing, though what followed with ZA certainly gave me emotional whiplash. Tomodachi Life... YES!!! #fireemblem was a VERY welcome surprise. Samus has a bike now, let's go #metroid!
