Another painting I did for "Swords Without Master" by @epidiah.bsky.social
Thank you @portablecity.bsky.social for the fantastic art direction!
Day 21 of #pleinairpril - i have myself extra time on this painting, probably because i love its subject so much, tbh!
pencil sketch of a zombie with fungus branches coming out of the top
sometimes i go to a diner to work and then forget that i'm looking at reference photos of gross fungus or dead things when the server comes by and then feel awkward
This is a really kind thread -- I couldn't have picked a better project to dip my toe into TTRPG art direction on, to be real! Swords Without Master is entirely My Jam, and working with Eppy and Nathan is always easy and fun, no matter the subject matter we tackle, so combined, this has been great!
ahhhhh Si thanks! i had a lot of fun letting myself go real hard with this one, even though it's not really in the spirit of a daily painting challenge to take too long on a single piece.

Photo of 2 stacks of The Bottle Witch of Brimley books
Peek inside one of the books, featuring black and white illustration of three young students in a closet filled with strange bottles, staring at one large glowing bottle
Gleefully cackling unwrapping these comps from @orcabook.bsky.social
Bottle Witch of Brimley is in book stores tomorrow!!
day 20 of #pleinairpril ! this scene is from inside the Don Valley.
You can still back it here, I guarantee the money is going to so so so so much people-made art: www.kickstarter.com/projects/unw...
illustration of what might be some kind of fantasy funeral rite. The illustration is two colors and stylized, in the foreground is a group of robed priestess holding hands over a long sword. In the background a bandaged corpse lays on an altar among arches shelves of bottles and detritus.
Thanks so much to @portablecity.bsky.social for being a great AD, here's one of two of the illustrations I did for Swords Without Master and you guys have no idea what cool shit you're in for. People have been cranking out the most gorgeous work for that thing
a photograph of a corner of a room where the wall is covered in small wood panels of various sizes, most of them with paintings on them now, with only 10 remaining blank. there is a lamp in the corner.
Two thirds done now! here's a shot of the wall, it's really starting to fill up:
hey friends, if you can, please help my bud get things wrapped up with his dad and stay housed himself in the meantime 🙏
A comic cover reading PIT OF EDEN, depicting an ancient Babylonian statue covered in golden, heaving figures. The background is Mesopotamian inspired painting glowing bright pink.
PIT OF EDEN IS LIVE
Can you hear the singing?
Pit of Eden is a Babylonian-inspired, queer, body horror comics anthology written by the incomparable Malcolm Derikx and with black and white art by over a dozen amazing artists! (Including me!)

also any local artists wanna do a cafe sketch or similar? or walk around Jackson's while i empty my wallet at the altar of european art supplies?
okay, we're pretty much locked in for a uk trip next month! gonna be a few different places, but we'll be staying in London for five days and I'd love to hear your Cool Shit to See recommendations, friends! already put all the museums i can find on my list, but i'd love any off the beaten path ideas
An illustration of a cutaway of the interior of a wizard's tower, showing seven floors, each with a theme - the dungeon, kitchen, garden, portal room, library, bedroom, astronomy lab, and a few smaller vignettes like a dragon rookery, and a mystery tunnel. The tower sits in a landscape alongside an impossibly large apple tree, a waterfall, a glowing sunset, and a smiling moon.
A sheet of drawings of an enclosed balcony, showing the roofed version and without the roof, with a couple of prop callouts and a top down layout view. The balcony looks very DIY and the props are repurposed ship architecture as well as poorly hand-mended tables, chairs, etcetera.
A 3/4 isometric view of a low-poly kitchen layout, with tiny figures and oversized props like a bellows attached to the oven chimney, a giant treasure chest up a ladder, and giant barrels full of various pie ingredients.
Four interior designs, all the same basic layout, with different approaches to the decorative shapes and furniture designs. Very modernist feel, with a rasied sleeping platform against a bright wall-sized window, and a simple desk and chair.
Here's a few interior designs, and please feel free to reach out via email at shel@portablecity.net - thanks!
A drawing split in half - the upper half shows a house made of a pinkish crystal, a floating person in silhouette inside, the ground around it holding the remnants of a wooden house frame, silhouetted gainst a grey-blue sky with one large cloud; below, pinkish crystals encase a reaching hand with purplish nails in a dark swirling space.
A loose painting of a 3/4 downview of an urban street at dusk, with streetlamps, buildings and small cars visible in the half-light.
A tightly rendered digital painting of ship, boats and an oil rig that have been repurposed to grow food and house people, all grouped together on a calm sea against a blue sky with scattered clouds.
A drawing in coloured pencil and watercolour of a building made of impossibly stacked classical greek architecture, rising from the greenish sea and glowing from within, against a stormy grey sky.
Hey, love your videos and definitely curious about what you've got planned! I'm a concept artist who loves atmosphere of all kinds, and hasn't gotten to do as much spooky stuff as I'd like recently. Here's a few vibes-heavy pieces, and you can see more here: www.portablecity.net/visual-devel...

a black and white illustration of a Corgi blissed out in a beach chair, wearing sunglasses and a Hawaiian shirt
a digital illustration of a brown, striped, long-haired cat wearing a tactical vest and holding a knife in its mouth. There are two black speech balloons above the cat's head, one is a heart and the other is a skull.

there's a cafe near me that in an effort to reduce waste doesn't use paper cups, so their to-go solution is to take donations of regular ceramic mugs from the community, and give those out for free. so there are often people walking around near that cafe with just a regular old open top mug.
It’s a game about trauma and you play as a child. Of course there are will be child like drawings on the walls. This sad face is so we can test out the appearance and movement of the textures in engine before I take the time to draw the final images. #gamedev #indiegame #horrorgame #wip #trauma

A hand holding a bunch of tombstone shaped herb markers over a kiln (I’m unloading!) they each have a winged skull on them and say “here lies oregano” and “Sage” and “chives” an “basil”
I missed Rosemary, she was still in the kiln. How are we feeling about these tombstone herb markers? I only have two of each, this is kind of a sample batch.
Ya'll should go check this out, I'm really happy with how this cover turned out nightnoongames.itch.io/nyarlathotep...

Crossposting an update from my Kofi:
The hearing on the 2nd went well. They essentially conceded to us, and we came to a new agreement that mostly included changes the exterminator wanted in where stuff was placed in Dad's apartment. The new deadline is the 30th...
hey friends, if you can, please help my bud get things wrapped up with his dad and stay housed himself in the meantime 🙏
Anyway it's 10pm and I'm stuck between trying to nap in the hope that I wake up enough to work or... idk if I had the mental resources to force myself to do anything right now, would I be posting things here?
Anyway I could use some help with cash this week ko-fi.com/O4O8CAE3
