Like bruh, I’m one of the most mentally ill folks out there AND I’m a Whedon scholar, and I can’t imagine how badly I’d fuck myself up if I literally never saw a film that weren’t best analyzed through the lens of how it compares to Whedon’s first Avengers film.

Genuine question: is there a documented instance of Hi-Top Films watching a movie that didn’t star a comic-book superhero??
He would like the people of his state to hand over a portion of their rights, privileges, and autonomy to him, while he calls them the R-slur.
When Platner was asked about the tattoo in a recent interview, he used the R-slur, and given that he's currently a candidate for U.S. Senate, that means he feels comfortable using ableist hate speech while he's doing a job interview.

They should make cupholders in cars have an adjustable circumference.
The producers of the film trilogy adaptation of Atlas Shrugged crowdfunded the budget for the third film. They relied upon the generosity of community to tell a story that shuns the concepts of community and generosity.
You should feel free to accept Social Security and other public services, but only as long as you cope while doing it, says the Randian objectivist.
Ayn Rand relied on Medicare, accepted Social Security payments, and resided in public housing.
The Rand Institute and Atlas Society rationalized this by suggesting that since taxation is theft, it’s fine to take advantage of government services if you regard it as restitution.
“Quality” and “integrity” is when you let writers and artists, real human beings who have slaved away for you trying to create defining stories, die broken and penniless because you couldn’t give them healthcare, despite owning billions of dollars from their work.
Fuck corporations now and forever.
I love the episode where, in the middle of conflicts with the Dominion heating up, Sisko decides to build a replica of an ancient Bajoran solar cruiser and goes on a space road trip with Jake-o.
I have a confession to make: I’ve also never done a wellness check on someone who cheated on their intimate partner.

Anakin Skywalker is a case study in how systems and environments can fail people. He is also a case study that we still have the choice to do the right thing in spite of our circumstances. Analysis of how evil becomes is not justification for evil. Life isn’t binary like the Tattooine sunsets.
Both of those seasons are also top-tier television 🤜🤛💯
If this actually happens, it may rank as the single most corrupt act in the history of American politics. I cannot believe this is even under discussion.
If cavemen and astronauts got into a fight, who would win?
OpenAI: We’re burning money like the Joker. A miracle needs to happen for us to turn a profit
Microsoft: Please please use our AI systems, we’re teetering on the edge here
Anthropic: I wonder what’ll kill us first: lawsuits, regulations or model collapse
Media and universities: AI is here to stay
He’s also quietly a fan of Passion of the Nerd and joins in their Angel rewatch streams from time to time.
"Look, I'm begging you. If you do this, I will lose out on the contract deal between Sony and Marvel. There's not a writer in town that'll be willing to finish a Spider-Man reboot script in five years."
"You should've thought of that earlier..."
The stretch of Angel season five from "Smile Time" to "Not Fade Away" is hands down the greatest run of television in broadcast history. Nine straight episodes that are all absolute bangers of storytelling. It still has yet to be matched, yet alone exceeded.
I do the same thing a lot with Whedon and Snyder, and with a lot of the academic research for my thesis. I call it "following the breadcrumbs" of the ways people think!
I've decided to bitch more about gas prices... for the good of my community.
I'm doing my part. Are you?
Every time a Republican tells me to stop complaining about something, I specifically then complain about it at greater volume and with greater frequency. It's called exercising my civic responsibility.
The iconic opening oner of Revenge of the Sith ends with the camera moving in to focus on Artoo, because as we must remember, the entire saga is Artoo's story.
As well, the specific recurring use of yellow for the fast vehicle is a fascinating throughline in his work.
Lucas' student films are such an incredible avenue to seeing what motivated him and turned him on through his entire career as a filmmaker -- the relationship between movement and editing, the use of color to guide the viewer's attention throughout the screen space, and a great sense of speed.
