I hosted @morelle.house.gov for a roundtable on what went wrong in Dallas during the March 3 primary, & how we make sure it never happens again.
That’s why I introduced the VOTE Act, requiring states to notify voters when their polling place changes, so every voter can have their voice heard.
I bring that same standard to Congress. If an expulsion resolution for this kind of serious wrongdoing came before the House, I would not hesitate to vote to expel those members.
That vote reflected a principle I’ve consistently upheld: elected officials must be held accountable when they abuse their power. I have a long record of standing up to corruption and misconduct, regardless of who is involved.
In 2023, as a member of the Texas House, I voted to expel former State Representative Bryan Slaton for sexual misconduct involving his staff.
Democrats have repeatedly offered to fund TSA, the Coast Guard, FEMA, virtually all of DHS, without writing a blank check to ICE.
The Senate even passed a bipartisan bill to do exactly that. House Republicans won’t bring it to the floor.
Republicans are choosing politics over solutions.
When Congress returns, Republicans must finally do their jobs and fund TSA, FEMA, the Coast Guard, and critical services Americans rely on.
I will not vote to fund ICE until we can dismantle it and make serious reforms to how that agency operates.
Today, we recognize the wage gap between Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women and white non-Hispanic men. AANHPI women earned about 83¢ for every $1.

Trump should still be removed from office.

He has consistently put our nation’s safety at risk. The cabinet must invoke the 25th Amendment.

We never should have been in this war. Trump has no plan, no exit strategy, and Americans are dead.
This is erratic, reckless leadership. He must be removed from office.
