Hopefully there is a decent amount of progression with him. It would be nice to have an affordable contract. However, you listed desirable players as well!

Assuming they don't see Monk as a viable option at all at this point? I know he looked rough last season. But sounds like he's just taking a roster spot currently
If we get ONE CB I agree with you
Are that defensive stats misleading because they could not stop the run at all so why pass on them? I like the hire, just curious your thoughts
That's a definite bummer. As he finally seemed ready to be here
What are the odds he still lands here in a position similar to what he has in Denver? Or possibly the secondary coach? Something to get his knowledge in the building
Announcing on the day you can potentially interview Leonhard is a peculiar decision. If Lafleur was leaning Gannon why drag it out this long
I'd love to see any of those 3 here. Would Leonhard have to change his scheme? He traditionally operates out of a 3-4, no? Or do you think GB has the personnel to rotate between 4-3 and 3-4
If you had your choice of available candidates, who is in your top 3 that you see that can equal what Hafley did or do better
Giving Al Harris a call could be interesting choice
It would be a nice change of pace since Lafleur seems better at the passing game while McDaniel is much better at running. I'd like to see it for a season to mix things up
That or that Guty has some say over the coaching staff when his contract is renewed
I mean of course he wants to stay. Not many openings have the potential this team does. Could argue Baltimore, Atlanta to an extent. The rest are all in rebuild mode.
I want to agree. Hafley I believe depends on the openings after interviewing. Some may fill up quickly and he's left with total trash. But he's 100% a future HC in this league
This has all the feelings that after next season, if it has similar results, that Guty will be able to make coaching decisions if Lafleur refuses to
Sadly you're correct. Halfway through the 3rd quarter it was "here we go again"
The organizational structure can be completely changed. Policy "could" keep Lafleur as HC but then give Guty the ability to decide the coaching staff and if wants a different play caller on offense. I see the argument to keep him and let him go. Still have yet to hear or see a significant upgrade
This is the move that would be huge. Ideally Hafley becomes HC but that dynamic would implode all over
Side by side of him and McCarthy and you see very little difference
Absolutely agreed. First half he called ultra aggressive calls. Second half failed to adjust to the pressure by the defense and played scared. The 3 missed kicks are huge. And definitely had a bit of impact on him coaching seemingly nervous. But that team needs a coach who will go for the W
Stay in house with Hafley. Get a solid OC like McDaniel who runs a similar offense but better run scheme. Lafleur is a good leader and players love him. However is plays on offense are stale and unimaginative at this point. And he's too loyal to coaches who are not carrying their share
But totally fell off the past 8 games. Not even worth a restructure of the contract. Cheaper younger talent on the roster
I'd only extend if multiple other staff moves are made
Doesn't help when Gary WENT MIA right after that
Lafleur has become too predictable and cautious
Of course it does. You can't choke that away. 25 points in the 4th is inexcusable
Stefanski would be nice. Makes way more out of way less around him
Took it so personally he proved most people right
His playing has become stale and unimaginative. And not utilizing Golden more before this game? He should have some explaining to so on that
I'm not saying a better coach is there. But stripping him of offensive playcalling should he high next season with a new OC
