the manga is still a MASTER CRAFT of its medium. i think everyone should experience both honestly. i just truly cant believe that it even compares. that it took on the challenge with this much love and care is really incredible to see

the anime only sequences added to the third episode of witch hat were so profoundly beautiful that i got misty eyed. the question has, somehow, gone from "can the witch hat anime possibly do justice to the manga?" to "is the anime SOMEHOW the best way to experience this story?"

and this is coming off season 2 of frieren, you and i are polar opposites, journal with witch! ive been eating good! i just wish i liked the iruma anime... its made with a lot of heart, but 0 budget. oh well

this season of anime is cracked i kind of feel like we're in a golden age? witch hat and daemons of the shadow realm are both shaping up to be nuts adaptations of series i love, while nippon sangoku is maybe the freshest production ive seen in a long time stylistically.

i think its worth buying just to see all the art direction alone. daisuke made some really cool character designs here. feels like a lot of them would work incredible as gears. really happy i got the art book

damon and baby feel like daisuke and friends wanted to just make something between fighting games, no matter how cheap or unpolished, and i kind of adore it for that. its a 7/10 experience, but a 7/10 experience i like a lot more than games that are probably technically better.

it even made me think english was a beautiful language for a second, which is not something i like to think often! the way the story tackles the messy nature of mourning and the process of sorting out feelings is very beautiful and real.

amongst frienren season 2, and an adaptation of one of my favorite romcoms ever in "you and i are polar opposites", its no small feat that "journal with witch" is far and away the anime resonating most with me this season. im only three episodes in but im already tearing up.

todays ichi the witch was unstoppable. im DEVOURING the current arcs in both ichi and iruma. nishi is just unstoppable god DAMN!
