I am always running to the podiatrist, which can’t help.
hehe
“I have concerns”
Love that the Brainfuck example comes first
Would love to know more about tenant virtualization in Nile and how it differs from partitions in eg Dynamodb!
“use carefully designed, wide events and include the reason in the event” 💯
This is best accomplished by storing operational data denormalized. With large, fast-moving teams, multiple table ownership and design sprawls, and denormalizing on CDC is a pain. No joins on operational reads!
epigraph from Platform Engineering: A Guide for Technical, Product, and People Leaders: "What's an internal platform but an external platform being built in an hypoxic, lightless, dungheap of an environment?" - Coda Hale
one of those sentences where you can ID the author and the source before even seeing the attribution

Serverless is a payment mode IMO – usage based instead of blocks of resources (servers) you have to bin-pack and scale yourself. This magic doesn’t really work in a single-tenant, self-hosted context, as you can’t hide the servers the user runs it on.
Finally dug into @opentelemetry and was really happy with how easy it was to integrate with our existing Prometheus-instrumented app 🙏 austince.github.io/blog/using-otel-with-pro...
We’re seeing @danadonnelly tonight! (tweeting this so she doesn’t mock me during her set)
@ NYC people: looking forward to this data streaming meetup tonight — come find me and Cortical Ventures there! www.eventbrite.com/e/data-stream-processing...
Don’t know when it happened, but I’m now a physical thumbs up guy 👍🏼
Thank you for our covid kits @ Pritha Mehra #current22 @USPS
Came all the way to JFK to update my firmware.. jk #current22 inbound 🛩
I put them in my blog which, with 3 posts, is already the longest blog I've ever had. More to come!
I'm working on a series breaking down the Kubernetes API Server, and more on how to find the right place to ask your questions. Always open to suggestions 😛
Rounded up some of the tech communities that have helped me most in my recent work and where they hang out.
Things I love about them:
* They are close to my problems (read: pain)
* Meetings + open agendas
* Vibes 🥰

"Yes Man" with Jim Carrey but "CoPilot completes shell commands" with me
🙆Working with control plane APIs should be as easy as submitting a SQL statement.
⛹️ Whatever format IDs are in, users must provide them.
🤸Declarative APIs get shit done and let people focus on what matters to them.

There's been a lot of talk around control plane APIs; I'd like to jump in + kick off a blog! 🦘
My first couple posts are on identifiers in APIs, who should provide them, and why they matter.
tldr in thread — let me know what you think!...
Been trying out GitHub Co-pilot. Pretty cool, IP debates aside, though it keeps completing my name to "Austin Coding Experience" — is this rebrand my destiny?
Please don’t take away pickles
Recovering from covid bout #1, trying not to freak out that all pickles smell and like nail polish remover.
We're hiring across engineering and HR — the team is spread across the US and EU (and soon further!) but we're quite well connected. Only commutes are multi-annual retreats 🌞 #cloudnative #peoplefirst

Happy to announce @immerokcom, the company I've co-founded with so many other great and talented people. Together, we're building the best cloud offering for @ApacheFlink that gives data teams and their apps the experience they deserve. https://www.immerok.com/
I have been delayed in airports a total of 12 hours and counting, which was finally enough to get my @KubeCon_ NA submission out the door! Mercury in retrograde can't stop me, well, except from flying.
What happened to the "Product, HR, everyone should use gitlab!" days? Are these features still maintained?
