anyways, miraculously, it's alive

at a coworking space that seemingly has blocked claude code (not TCP blocking, not DNS blocking, something else that I can't figure out how/why) so I just spent like a half hour figuring out how to route my corporate VPN through my VPN to my home server (tailscale) but simutaneously keep corpo DNS 🫠
You're totally right on this!!!
The pendulum swings, and continues to swing
He had actually toured with one of the bands. Hasn't played a show since like 2014
I've been making a band patch jacket and wore it to my first show tonight. I filled it with all obscure-ish bands and it paid off cause the guitarist of one of the bands immediately clocked out. Working as intended 💪
Either way his vibes were completely fucked. Who does that?
There was this guy in the gym yesterday wearing a leather jacket. Didn't do a single exercise for like three hours I saw him. Just occasionally wandering the gym, doing this kinda half heated finger gun kinda thing. Don't know if he was trying to put on a vibe or jamming to music
Understandable! Figured it might be hard from abroad. Trying to figure out if there's enough people from our years going to make it worth the trip, but admittedly it's much easier for me 😅
@worr.bsky.social random, but asking around for people in our year - are you going to CSH 50th?
recolored and hastily edited windows 11 background. it says windows 13 and it's green
Windows 13 rumored to "suck your dick clean off", per sources close to Microsoft.
I smashed her "like" button, and now I'm subscribed, if you catch my drift
doing youtube title clickbait on my PR titles so I can get reviews faster
this plugin was so key to a lot of the psychedelic effects I'd make on my escher beat album, but I'd have to basically bounce tracks multiple times and hope it didn't crash in the meantime
the plugin's last release was in like 2009, it was written only for windows 32 bit, and would randomly crash. It was also a free plugin, so I'm not putting anyone out of a job by making this.
Having a near-replica that is fully modernized, bug fixed, and *extensible* is an amazing power
Spent some time setting up a rust-based VST/CLAP plugin repo yesterday. Today I had an LLM recreate one of my old favorite granular plugins just from the PDF manual it came with, and now it's working. I've never written rust code or a plugin before - very non-trivial accomplishment
I had to look at the comments to figure it out too - it's a D not an O, JDI=jedi
I can't underscore how surprisingly effective agentic workflows are for getting actual quality work done, including for fairly nuanced tasks across a whole repo. If you think LLMs are useless, you are definitively misinformed. Caveat that with they are not perfect, but nobody using them assumes that
Is LLM AI perfect? definitely not.
Is claude code surprisingly effective? **Yes** (when you plan/scope effectively (requires actual dev experience).
Is it cost effective? Mmmmmm probably not. But for now, my company is footing the bill 🤷
zen is a minimal fork of FF. while idk if they have specifically committed to anti-AI, adding in *any* extraneous feature (AI or not) is just fundamentally against their goal of providing a minimal browser
nice, I used to use opera many years ago (that vivaldi based off of) until they kinda went in a drastic different direction, so I switched to FF. in general I prefer to support non-chromium browsers for software ecosystem reasons, but vivaldi seems pretty nice!
on top of all the the UI is just kind of nicer overall
historically, I use FF with aggressive use of multi account containers. I have a couple different windows I hold for different "workspaces" and do some tab grouping within them.
Zen browser kind of gives me a lot of UI candy with this flow, with some modifications from what I expect
trying out zen browser, seems pretty nice. with a bit of customization and privacy extensions, might be ideal going forward (I've historically been using firefox)
guys. the kid rock performance is uh. well it’s exactly what you’d expect
Huge pet peeve of all new Yorkers lol. I'm a fast walker even for nyc so I get it a lot
classic first timer move. for the better honestly
I was trying to think of them and couldn't remember their name 😅 but yes
More annoying that the first 5-10 people I was standing with were doing that, and then late comers slide in and go straight up to the baggage drop in as if there wasn't a reason people weren't already standing there 🙃 just pure selfishness
The correct configuration is everyone stands at least 5 feet back, and you step forward when your bag shows up
