Yeah the way it was just SO obvious what was going on with the guy and his sickening little winks to the audience about it just makes this all one of the harder listens.

A lot of critics also tend not to engage with the same metrics others do, often rating saving higher ratings for stuff they really enjoy, whereas mid numbers are stuff that was fine enough. Ppl take a 5-7 rating as like, a personal offense. Its so dumb.

I think this is the same dynamic that led to gamergate frankly. Or rather it getting so big. The misogyny was a huge part, but selling ppl on "how come they no like my fave bro shooter but they like this artsy fartsy depression game??"

I dunno, bc the latter isnt a waste of your time.

Anyone who is a critic hater by default is always gonna have the dumbest shit imaginable to say in response to one. And then when critics have something they actually enjoy these ppl scoff and mock them.
