It's Opening Day in 1876! And it's the beginning for what we know today as Major League Baseball. Have a listen.

Phillies got you down? No problem, let us help as we discuss an Athletics loss from 1876.
New episode drops tomorrow April 22 at 8am.
I don't feel great about playing those two as the final two opponents. Flyers always seem to have trouble with Carolina.
I was just made aware of this. It is not good.

Yep, I have that one. I mean a view from the interior.
Okay I was wrong. Evidently it was reprinted in the Sporting Life
I'm pulling every baseball article for 1890 from the Phila. Press, an undigitized daily newspaper. I have scans of the Inquirer, Times, and Item for 1890. But none have shown me a glimpse of what the inside of Forepaugh Park, home to the Phila. Players' League club.
This is new.
A little microfilm mining before the Phillies open their season tomorrow.

He's penciled in at third base!
Okay, I think I have this figured. I pulled data from stathead between 1871-99. Lots of choices. I only had to supplement a few German-Americans into the German team. (Germany Smith, Fred Pfeffer, Lou Bierbauer and maybe Jud Birchall (mother was German)).
