Jurassic World Rebirth movie poster
Watched Jurassic World Rebirth last night. It's better than some of the previous ones, and the sea monsters early on are cool, but it's still a turn-your-brain-off popcorn movie - and sometimes that's just what you want. And Scarlett's in it, so worth a watch. 6/10

Yeah, didn't really stick the landing.
Playground ("Un Monde" in French) movie poster
Playground (aka "Un Monde") is a 2021 Belgian #drama that brilliantly captures the feeling of being a child in the chaotic world of school. It's shot from little Nora's eye level, as the trials and stresses of the playground play out around her. I highly recommend it.

I'm a bit of both. Sometimes I have an idea and write it down (immediately, if it's a decent idea, even if I have to ask a random person for pen and paper) and go back to it later. Sometimes I'll start writing the idea and end up writing pages, if it's generating more ideas/scenes.
Yeah, that's a good call. I haven't seen that film for ages.
I just saw the face of Christ in one of my bathroom tiles. But yesterday I saw the Cookie Monster, so....
#Pareidolia is #weird.

Haha. To me it didn't feel as long as it was. But the reason it took me this long to watch it was because of the runtime. But then I think to myself, "I watched five hour-long episodes of [whatever] the other night, and 3.2 hours is nothing compared to that."
Yeah, that's a good shout. I think I'd already watched things like Poltergeist, Omen and Nightmare on Elm Street before I watched Robocop, and those horror films scared me (had to sleep on parents' bedroom floor after). But that Robocop scene was more realistic for me I guess, full-on brutality.
Haha. That is quite a full-on execution scene. But watching sex scenes with the parents is pretty uncomfortable too ๐
๐คฃ That's very logical thinking for a 4 year old
I think I have a vague memory of Faces of Death ๐
Haha. Yeah, I was backpacking around South America a long time ago and ended up staying, partly because of the writing thing. I was a travel writer for a long time.
What's the first truly shocking thing you ever saw in a movie? For me, it was the killing of Murphy in #Robocop. I was probably about 11 years old at the time, and I still vividly remember the feeling of shock and horror watching that scene for the first time. Brutal.

Ah interesting. I was wondering if Doylestown was a real place or not while I was watching the movie.
The Brutalist (2024). This movie seems to have an endless amount of movie posters.
I watched The Brutalist last night, an amazing film with Scorsese epicness and a dash of Herzog's Fitzcarraldo. The first half is more cohesive than the second, and the final act feels a bit abrupt for a 3 hour+ film, but that's nitpicking. Don't let the runtime put you off.

Lord Summerisle: Naturally! It's much too dangerous to jump through the fire with your clothes on!

Ah, good, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Now you mention it, it might well have worked better in (possibly slightly grainy) black and white. Good point, I like that idea.
Very cool
Sator movie poster (2019)
Considering that Sator (2019) was made on a tiny budget and was largely a solo effort by director Jordan Graham (who even built the cabin in the woods used in the film), it is a very impressive, and very creepy, movie. #Horror fans should definitely give it a go.

Happy birthday Talisa Soto! ๐ She's appeared in quite a few #movies over the years, including roles as Lupe Lamora in Licence to Kill (1989) and Princess Kitana in Mortal Kombat (1995) and Mortal Kombat Annihilation (1997). โค๏ธ

Old (2021)
A nice day at the beach in M. Night Shyamalan's "Old" (2021)
They all sound good to me. If I had to choose, I'd probably go B (then C, then D).
The Trimaxion Drone Ship, an FTL capable spacecraft from the planet Phaelon. Chrome finish. Two previous navigators (one AI, one human). Time travel technology enabled.

No One Will Save You (2023), and, to be honest, I don't blame them. They've probably got better things to do.
I just watched No One Will Save You (2023), a dialogue-free, CGI-laden movie about arthritic grey aliens of various sizes carrying out the most ill-planned, inefficient and entirely pointless abduction of all time, while destroying a lot of furniture. 3/10 don't bother.
