First live performance in nearly 20 years on Friday night. Three years of hard work to get to this point and couldn't have been happier with the result.

Shapland and Jones's books. Cover designs by Tom Etherington
Enjoyed talking to Cynan Jones and Anthony Shapland at @belfastfestival.bsky.social last night.
Jones talked about the moment when he took a 90,000-word historical novel, and cut 60,000 words in one go. Was that hard? "No, it felt great." The result was his 2014 novel The Dig.
Delighted to be talking to Geoff Dyer and Joe Dunthorne tonight at Crescent Arts Centre as part of @belfastfestival.bsky.social. Some tickets still available. See you there!
Delighted and honoured to share the immense piece of art that artist (and all round gent) Peter Strain did for my band's EP out on Halloween...

Other films he'll rightly be remembered for more but A film but I watch annually around Christmas is Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Kilmer's performance is an absolute treat every single time.
Think of any movie that Val Kilmer was in, and its hard not to think of a single scene he didn't steal. There were roles where he could be unrecognizable, starkly beautiful but almost always off-kilter. But whatever he was in, he was an incredibly magnetic film presence. We lost a great movie star.
Someone is having...a day.
