If not for Trump, what's the emoluments clause for? What's impeachment for? What's the 25th Amendment for? What's section 3 of the 14th Amendment for? What are checks and balances for?

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?
Illustration by Abigail Larson depicting a gothic re-imagining of the "Beauty and the Beast" fairytale. A satyr-like monster is seated next to a Victorian woman on a couch in front of a grotesque fireplace. The monster has a look of surprise on his face as the woman kisses him.
An unexpected kiss 🖤

PLATNER: “What has happened in Gaza is the moral question of our time. And we’ve failed it miserably… history will not remember the leaders — of both parties, by the way — who allowed this to happen well.” @grahamformaine.bsky.social

Every day, I write the same story: Russian strikes claiming lives. One person here, five there, a child, a grandparent... These tragedies have become so routine that the world is growing numb.
It's really disheartening how many people on the left will talk about how the earth is dying, we need to protect wild animals, climate change is real, animal abuse is unacceptable, etc... until animal agriculture comes up then suddenly it's "lol shut up stupid vegans".
Committing $144 million to study microplastics while subsidizing fossil fuels by nearly $31 billion a year is like trying to clean up an oil spill with a spoon while the tanker is still spewing 🧵
F.W. Murnau's "Nosferatu" and "Shadow of the Vampire" -- a fictional account of the making of Murnau's film -- made for a terrific late night double feature.
#WetLeg makes both good music and good music videos.
