You asked when we talked earlier, could it be rare or common? Given you remember it too, but I've never seen another copy until now.
Thoughts?
By chance, I found it in Goodwill today for $2.๐ฅฐ
... I told people 1988 at first but now feel it was likely 1987. The copyright to the book is 1986.
I am guessing at this memory being 1987 or 1988. First year as a Girl Scout Brownie for a reward for magazine sales. I was given what I think was my first book.
This book vanished from my possession in 2009 when I first became homeless. I thought I was never going to see it again.
The shop owner to the place I make the kachinas for gave me the planter cheaper than normal price. Let's hope these miragolds make it! ๐๐ต
(Walmart was gearing up to trash them.)
Other than the fact the fabric picks up dust like a magnet. What do you think of my Mudhead?
It isn't normal practice for me to do a decoration step like a skirt add on then paint it before other detailing matters. But it was so difficult to put the skirt on the kachina overall. I figure settle its permanent postioning first before painting & other needed details.
Mudhead.๐ช๐ชถ
Guess which kachina I'm making now?
Ok, I thought I would check out what my latest Threadless design looks like in different color shirts. This shop somehow doesn't exist in site radar so how did this happen when my products are invisible? (Just letting this be known I do properly tag every design I put in my shop.)
Carving or fossil? Found while rock hounding for a giant rock to paint over ... The now painted rock isn't interesting but I'll show it here anyways.
The Aholi Kachina wasn't the easiest to look up when I first started this project. Even though he's one of the kachinas, I distinctly remember in my grandfather dad's side house.
Hopefully, here I'll get feedback for Aholi even if no one had anything to say over Tawa being finished.
Nearly done.
This is actually the next Kachina I'm making. Also, I'm mixed-white and I love them.
WIP after days of work ...
My birthday was a nightmare ... which they almost always are.
Those of you who know me personally. Know what happened on my 29th birthday.
Pokemon Go's June even finally had me reach tier 100 today.
I think I named this guy well, even if my birthday was a horrific disaster this year.
I assume the Martian Poop soda can only be found in Roswell and maybe sci fi conventions.๐
๐!
So what do you think?
Even the wood base is signed on the underside.
Most of the way there now.๐
Yes, this is what I was talking about the other day. The owner wants Kachinas, and I'm going to try my best on the example being made.
That note of RIP Walter Weinstock. As said my grandfather dad's side is where my love of Kachinas comes from.
Hoping to become a consignment artist at a local store. This is one of the more complex foam carvings I've ever done.
PS: All carved away by my nails and rubbing. (Work in progress.)
RIP Walter Weinstock
Just moved to a new state & new town.
Because I am still feeling unsure about people accepting me here, I blinged my shoes with some identity.๐
(Ace, but I support everyone.)
I'm going to be moving soon and I'm planning on video blogging it as much as I can. ... Even through I have seen a number of RVers do this. ...I have Traveling Robert's music stuck in my head right now.๐
This is a little video test where the road camera is meant to be stationed.๐
This is just a daily reminder to me that the world would rather see me fail than succeed.
