I'm torn - sounds interesting and important, but I don't know if I have it in me to here him spout his nonsense.

The point that Trump is an incoherent idiot still stands though.

It was actually a tamping rod (much bigger) and it damaged more than an "infinitesimally-small" part of his frontal lobe. He was able to speak for years afterward.

Substack, not substance....sigh

I'm sure I fell into the "preaching to the choir" category, but I did appreciate your substance. In a time when I've been getting increasingly jaded by American evangelicalism, it helped to see someone standing up and holding true.

What show was that?

Agree it was a bad idea for TNG to have kids on the ship. But it made a bit more sense on DS9 since it was a space station (like having families on a military base). DS9 started rough, but got quite good once the Dominion was introduced. Ended up being my favorite Trek.

The ruins under the St. Pierre Cathedral are worth checking out.

As much as that sucks (and it really, really does) maybe the reality hitting will snap people out of the MAGA trance. Hard to know at this point if anything can.

I would like to see some sort of coordinated work strike. The thing is, many people (some of the most vulnerable) literally cannot afford to miss a paycheck.

So, your argument is that because some dishonest actors could do it and cause trouble, we should go ahead do it for them????

"Citizens" sticks with you.

Therefore, the use of the flags in both cases is very foolish - so no double standard on Tom's part.

Sorry-deleted my previous post to edit before I saw your response. Obviously, the Confederate flag and Nazi flag are horrific and have no place anywhere, which makes them different from the Mexican flag. However, I believe Tom's point is that using the Mexican flag in this context is foolish.

American Evangelicalism keeps choosing Barabbas and it is both angering and demoralizing.

His original X-Factor run. The humor and camaraderie with Strong Guy and Multiple Man was great. He took two characters that didn't have much depth and really developed them into interesting characters.

Interesting - I'd be interested in hearing more about this (maybe on the podcast or substack) if you were up for it

I've long been disenchanted with political power to effect change in people's hearts, yet I would still say my faith motivates the public policies I tend to support.
