a lot of the claims made about this are things like "she promoted the four horsewomen" or "she made women the main event in NXT" with like.....no evidence? If anything, those women and Dusty Rhodes made that happen. Not Stephanie.
This is not to say that the women's roster is complicit in Saudi propaganda nor that they shouldn't be proud to wrestle there. But, it is just plain silly to say that these matches reflect WWE and Saudi Arabia's commitment to gender equality.
The idea that Stephanie McMahon did a lot for women's wrestling is propaganda. WWE presents her as a feminist icon so their record of abuse, objectification, and misogyny is ignored. Especially now, when they've sold their women's roster out to Saudi Arabia as false signposts of feminist progress.
