Image of a whale being dragged onto a whaling boat. With the text: 428 Minke Whales Killed Last Year. How many will it be this season.

Norway’s whaling season starts tomorrow. With a larger kill-quota: 1,641 whales.

But only 1% of Norwegians regularly eat whale meat*.

A group of pilot whales surfacing and swimming closely together in the ocean water.

In July 2023, dozens of pilot whales stranded on Lewis, Scotland. A new report suggests the tragedy may have begun with a female experiencing a difficult birth. Pilot whales have such strong social bonds, the rest of the pod may have followed the distressed mother.👉 https://ow.ly/KX3Y50Yv7qW

But the law still can’t be enforced because the government hasn’t introduced the final activity regulations. It has been TWO YEARS.

Hundreds of thousands of animals continue to suffer while we wait.

Tag your MP and call on them to help get this Act implemented - finally.

This law would ban UK companies from selling and advertising cruel overseas animal activities like elephant riding and dolphin shows, but we’re still waiting for the government to introduce the regulations needed to make it work. Two years on, we’re calling on parliament to bring the Act into force.
