Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up (Official Music Video)
Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up (Official Music Video) YouTube video by Rick Astley

Wow: after 15 years, YouTube has taken down the original 'Rick Roll' video due to a "licensing issue," likely due to the acquisition of Astley's record lable.

The metadata remains, but if you click through it goes to 'video not found':

The image is a six panel black and white comic.

The first panel shows a person at their desk, saying "I don't know if I should post this art. Who would even want to see it?" to themselves.

The next panel features another person bursting through the door behind them.

The third panels shows this new person shoving the other one to the side as they slam the enter key on their keyboard, showing the art to be posted in the next panel.

The fifth panel then shows the same person firmly pressing against their phone as if entering in a post.

The post is shown on the last panel, with a comment on the art stating "I FUCKING LOVE THIS AND I LOVE U"

How does dating even work these days? I just want to feel loved by someone who won't cheat on me.

Never mind the “millennials on their fourth once in a lifetime recession of their adult lives” discourse, I don’t think how much it can be stated how much millennials simply have no reason to trust in American systems at this point.

I want a kinder world. I hope everyone starts by being kind to themselves. Reduce the worlds suffering by doing your best to keep yourself happy and healthy, even when they make that hard.

Yeah... It has almost always been pretty evident that Twitch wasn't interested in being a video host solution; rather a place exclusively for Livestream content

All of those "weird" things you do are things you learned to do to survive so instead of asking yourself "why am I so bad and weird" ask yourself "what did this do for me in my life? what is it doing for me now?"

PSA:

1. If you are not silly, it is vital you become silly

2. If you are silly, you must stay silly

2. If you used to be silly but have stopped, you must make all efforts to return to silliness

This then refreshed and volleyed *back* to my phone this morning when I brought my Deck back up from standby.

So now Gboard is offering to paste a game code into every message box from a copy operation I did 2-3 days ago.

I love modern technology 🤣

As a result of this, it seems I have encountered a form of "clipboard volleyball" where a game code I had copied on my gaming laptop volleyed to my phone a couple of days ago, which them volleyed to my Deck and stayed since I didn't have need to shut down my Deck.

For convenience, since it allows for clipboard sync as well as bidirectional media control, I have this active for my phone, Deck, and even gaming laptop running Fedora with KDE Plasma.

I need to share a wonderful happenstance of @kde.org Plasma/ #KDEConnect 🧵

So KDE Plasma has a phone companion app. And KDE Plasma is the desktop interface used when not in game mode on the Steam Deck.

Yup, sounds like programming

Yup. I go through it everyday, and it ensures I don't miss anything. To help me remember, I have YouTube give me a daily digest notification exactly ONCE per day, at 6p.

That loads up the app. From there, I'll go to the subscriptions tab and add to Watch Later everything I care to see.

portrait-mode monitor that is blank, but the cursor is in the shape of a heart symbol. below the monitor is a "keyboard garage" with a keyboard pulled out in front of it. it's got no numeric keypad and looks a lot like typewriter keys.

front panel of a Xerox Alto with a Diablo disk drive. A disk pack is installed in the drive. there's a row of four light bulb indicators on the right side, and one of them is lit. Below the disk drive is a front panel grille with rows and columns of slots. the entire chassis rides on small wheels, one of which is visible on the right side. also on the right is a rack of extra disk packs, which are white and round and about a foot in diameter.

today we fired up the old Xerox Alto (the earliest computer with a graphical OS) and dumped a disk pack that we hadn't imaged before.
