I don’t have the most complicated job in the world, but being a social media manager is a bit more complex than just going “beep boop” on a keyboard and hitting ‘post.’

But I am damn proud that I get to go “beep boop” on a keyboard for a rad organization.

being a social media manager who hates posting on my own accounts has gotta be one of the most nonsensical and ridiculous things about me.

it’s like a chef being afraid to cook in their own house.

But Liam was scared and frequently asked what they had done wrong, where they were and what happened to the little blue knit hat he wore the day he was detained, Conejo said.

There wasn’t much he could say to his son, “except hug him and tell him everything would be OK,” Conejo said.

Worried about further upsetting his son, Conejo said, he was forced to bite back his own tears.

Liam has since been reunited with his hat and continues to wear it, even inside the house, his dad said Thursday. Asked how he might one day explain to Liam everything that has happened, Conejo said he would tell his son that he had become the face of hope and change.

"He was the global figure who did all this so that the voices of the people demanding freedom would be heard, especially those of the children who are still locked up," Conejo said. “I would tell him he was very brave and that I am very proud of him.”

This hearing was predictable—and dangerous.

Anti-abortion extremists rehashed debunked myths and junk science in a clear effort to tee up more limits on the most commonly used abortion medication in the U.S. But they cannot change the truth: mifepristone is SAFE and EFFECTIVE. Period.

Everyone who has been separated by their families because of ICE — by murder or deportation — should still be with their families. True justice would be the separation never happening in the first place. The 2nd best thing for justice is abolishing ICE.

ICE has been tearing apart families and the idea that I’m supposed to give a fuck about people’s “immigration status” is absurd. The idea that witnessing the cruelty of an institution that does raids on communities to remove people based on their “status” = an action deserving of death is absurd.

I feel as an activist that I should have something useful to say, but this thread is just an outpouring of my shock at how willing so many people are to discard human life. My parents taught me better. Reproductive Justice taught me better. And yet so many people mock the loss of Renee Nicole Good.

The world doesn’t have to be like this. So much is possible if we committed to building a world rooted in love for the humans that we share it with. White supremacy, capitalistic greed, homophobia + transphobia + xenophobia destroy my loved ones and people I will never know, millions of miles away

I was taught as a child to love people. Witnessing the cruelty of everyday people — people who don’t have the same control as Trump, Noem, or Vance but who parrot their talking points and support everything they endorse — breaks my heart continuously as much as it enrages me.

I do not fear immigrants. Nearly all of the people that I fear are people who were born on the same land that I was and who believe that I am lesser than them because of the color of my skin, my sexuality, my gender, or my lack of Christian faith.

I have never given a single fuck about whether someone is an American citizen or not. So many people have been brainwashed to think that “law = morality, law breaker = bad” and it’s made them devalue life to a point of corruption of their humanity and empathy.

Under this is a call-to-action in a highlighter green rectangle, "Join us: tinyurl.com/DecrimPregnancyLoss."

Prosecuting pregnancy loss is on the rise.

It’s because antis, cops, and prosecutors use old, sexist laws on the books to punish people for how their pregnancy ends.

We’ve got a plan to repeal them. And we’ve already tested it and won in WA and CA

Bluesky Is Back for Mississippi Adults, But Social Giants Still Lack Required Age Checks Months after Bluesky blocked access to Mississippi, Bluesky is available in the state once again with age verification for adults.

Months after Bluesky blocked access to Mississippi users, the social media platform is available in the state once again, but only for adults 18 and up.

But larger social media platforms like Instagram and X still have not implemented state-mandated age-verification systems.

Israel killed at least 104 people in Gaza, including 46 children, in overnight strikes on the Palestinian territory.

The attacks came after Israel claimed its soldiers came under attack by Hamas militants, though the group denied responsibility.

it's important to remember the people doing this aren't "just following orders," they signed up to do this, they're excited to do it, it's what they want to be doing, and each one of them is personally culpable for the entirety of ICE's conduct

White words on a black background read:

50+
Immigration agents have the authority to detain whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

~130
Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers. We compiled cases of about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, accused of assaulting or impeding officers.

~20
Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.
