Yes! But it's an adaptation. If memory serves, there are no characters or stories in the book because it is presented as a scientific textbook. It's just filled with facts about gnomes and beautiful cut away illustrations.

It's not great for clarity or brevity but it could be fun to lean into the theming? Maybe like Butchered Bits, Hallowed Ends, Mortal Instruments? Vessels? Forms? Animations? Terminal Remain?

I'd probably go with:
SOCKETS: the attachment point.
JOINTS: the limb/elbow card.
LIMB: the array of cards attached to a core socket.
EXTREMITY: the terminal card of a limb.

Another route: name them based on what they do in game. i.e. Combat Cards, Manipulators, Cash Grabbers

A publisher would have to be extremely foolish to pass up the opportunity to publish both versions of "The Next Balatro."
