Thank you. Part of a larger unreleased music project this year according to Londell. Here’s hoping the vault floodgates have opened. 🤞

The thought that tempers the loss slightly is the knowledge there’s still a dragon’s hoard of treasure in the vault, awaiting its moment to shine in the sun. I hope this is the first of many new releases and It was an honour to be asked to be part of it, especially on such a poignant milestone.

The bittersweet high of seeing my artwork appear on an official Prince single, on the day that marks a decade since we lost the greatest musician to ever share our planet.

Sad times. Been working late nights this week on a project and your show’s been my soundtrack. Rinsed 5 episodes over 3 days. Gutted to be missing the Prince special.

When you take into account technical instrumental prowess, flair, vocal range, production skills, songwriting, dancing, vision, imagination and breadth, I reckon you can make a pretty solid case that Prince is the most musically talented person ever to have existed

I dream of regaining that kind of momentum

Charles F Spicer said we’d get to hear these again and will find out more tomorrow. It’s interesting that most of these are from 85/86. Read into that what you will. 14/14

We were also played an early demo of Purple Rain during the tour yesterday, featuring the missing verse. 13/14

The Ladder (live rehearsal). 26 Dec 84. We were told New Years Eve but as it was recorded at St Paul’s Civic Centre it would have been when he was performing there on Boxing Day. A gorgeous almost fully formed version The Ladder from the start of the Purpke Rain tour. 12/14

Love Never Wants 2 Say Goodbye. 1987. The kind of ballad Prince could churn out in his sleep. It’ll have some fans but I can see why it remained in the vault. Very 80s production despite being a demo. 11/14

Turn Me Loose (instrumental). 2008. An instrumental of the Lotusflow3r/ MPLSound outtake that was premiered on The Tonight Show in 2008. 10/14

A Couple Miles. 26 Dec 1985. Intended as a tribute to Miles Davis but unlike the other track he recorded that day Can I Play With U? Prince didn’t want Miles to play on it. A proto-Madhouse that’s previously circulated. 9/14
