How does the encoding work & how hard is it to decode if URL is intercepted?
Let's get real, after 15 years of inaction, Labour has come up with a plan to help parents with SEND children but it's not good enough I keep hearing.
Will anyone say it is going in the right direction? I mean... Labour could have done fuck all like the tories for 15 years.
We have three great researcher jobs advertised, each for 12m, contributing to our work on generating evidence to inform food system transition. Please share widely.

Did you know?
In 2024, the govt had to rename the statutory enquiry process for DA deaths to ‘Domestic Abuse Related Death Review (DARDR)’* because suicide is the most common cause of death in domestic abuse cases.
(was Domestic Homicide Review)
Tsk tsk. You know empathy and kindness have no place here….
[exahusted, under-resourced parent] I just want what’s best for my kids
[info environment] here’s a ton of bullshit
[public health guy] I empathize, trying to find what’s good and what’s not is really hard with all the bullshit
[bluesky] you, personally, have murdered these kids. I must post.
Yes please, would love to see it.
👏 👏 👏 Relying on drugs to stop obesity would be 'societal failure', says Chris Whitty www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
SPROCKET led by @ucl.ac.uk exists because children with complex needs still face fragmented, siloed services, even as the government’s SEND Reform white paper calls for major change.

RFK Jr *lies* when he says cervical cancer risk is increased in women who get the HPV vaccine.
New study: "States with high vaccination rates have seen the biggest drop in cervical cancer, while states with low vaccination rates have had little to no progress"

Chart showing recent confirmed measles cases per year in England ranging from 1,414 in 2013 to 2,911 in 2024 and 91 in 2015
🧵What is going on with Measles in England?
UKHSA has reported 96 confirmed measles cases since 1 Jan 2026, concentrated in London (64% of cases) and the West Midlands (26% of cases).
But what does this all mean? Is 96 a lot? Why is it happening? And what can we do about it? 1/8
I’ve been reading before bed instead of doomscrolling and my mental health has improved and I’m getting better sleep. I’m also down to 3 hours screen time per day.
Another annoying win for “making good decisions”

Esp on Bluesky - not conducive!
We pride ourselves on being a democracy and yet there’s a medieval theocratic anachronism in the heart of parliament: 26 bishops with automatic seats in the House of Lords. (The only other country in the world with clerics automatically entering a government is… Iran).
So proud to be involved in this project for my little boy 🥰
We’re thrilled to officially launch the full SPROCKET Hub — a new @nihr.bsky.social and EPSRC‑funded initiative led by @ucl.ac.uk
Parents, caregivers and young people are at the heart of SPROCKET, shaping our direction, our priorities and our ambition.
Well this is cool af @theo.io
I’ve got some excellent neighbours
Interesting indeed! I thought I’d be in the first picture but I showed up on the second! 😃
I made a map of 3.4 million Bluesky users - see if you can find yourself!

I've seen some similar projects, but IMO this seems to better capture some of the fine-grained detail

No you are not advised to get a booster if you’ve had it before, immunity to measles is essentially lifelong once you’ve had it (some caveats around immunodeficiency and very old age)
Dr Vanessa Saliba, Consultant Epidemiologist at UKHSA, said: 'Infections can return quickly when childhood vaccine uptake falls; elimination is only possible if all children receive two MMRV doses before school. Older children and adults who missed vaccination must be caught up. The NHS is making vaccination easier, including offering the second MMRV dose earlier at a new 18-month appointment to boost uptake and support elimination goals.'
UKHSA responds to the confirmation from @WHO that the UK has lost its measles elimination status.

The highest rate on record. It staggers me that no-one in public health seems to be acknowledging that immune dysregulation caused by prior SARS-CoV-2 infection is likely a significant factor in this, and the implications of this concept going forward. abcnews.go.com/Health/flu-a...
I have no interest in trying to dunk on anyone but there is absolutely no evidence for this at all.
SARS-CoV-2 has not been demonstrated to make you more susceptible to other infections by impairing the function of your immune system.
Can someone please respond to Stephen Miller with this message from Frank Sinatra?
Well, no. Because this is admission rates, which would represent the number of people more severely ill. But it could be more people are mildly infected - enough to be off school but not in hospital. Or could be cumulative effect of flu + other bugs going around (there always are).
I’ve worked in local authority for over a year now so I seen some corkers, but these are really next level. Bravo.
The worst charts I've ever seen at work
