Microsoft Cuts $7 Off of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Price as Call of Duty Removed from Day-One Availability Microsoft has dropped the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $29.99 per month to $22.99 per month, while PC Game Pass is being reduced from $16.49 per month to $13.99 per month. Both changes are ef...

The math on this is pretty incredible. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers were basically paying $7/month ($84/year) *just* for Call of Duty games, even if they never play them.

I’ll just add a couple of things:
1) if it’s not opinion-based it is not a review at all, and
2) Someone who does not agree with you is not “the wrong reviewer.”

As you put it, they feel that way.

No one says any of that. They say they disagreed with the original reviews and wanted to say so, respectfully. No one said anything about them being unfair or having caused anything.

Did you read the thing where the AI explained why that doesn’t make sense?

Both videos are clearly bylined. They are the opinions of those writers. They're offering another opinion, taking pains to point out that no one was wrong to dislike those games. They simply disagree, respectfully. No one says anybody is wrong.

So you did! I don't have alt-text on because I can read.

I'd note, though, that the sources for what it's pointing to there are almost exclusively Reddit threads - it's saying that the people in those threads are making that claim. But when you ask what the evidence for that is, it comes up empty.

It says "widely cited" or "widely considered." That means a lot of people think that, not that it's true.

Here's Gemini's response. (I notice you did not include how you phrased your question in your screenshots.)

I seriously want you to go to any AI and try arguing this stuff (without ordering it to agree with you). See how it goes.

You've been fed a steady diet of myths, lies, and half-truths designed to make you angry. Challenge them a little and see if they hold up.

This is what's called cherrypicking. Oh, you found 10 out of literally thousands? That's actually a stunningly *good* record.

The reason you cannot point to a reviewer who's never had an unpopular opinion on a game is because that's basically impossible for a human to do.

If you'd read the Veilguard review (or a lot of others) you'd know that's an objectively false statement.

What you're observing there are *different people* offering different opinions. They both took pains to say both perspectives are valid and no one is wrong to like what they like.

You obviously won't listen to me, but what about your AI buddy?

You can try this with pretty much every single thing you've said and get the same result.

Quite a rant! Rather than a full rebuttal, I'll urge you to fact-check yourself. Check Clover's Wikipedia page for why it was closed. See how often CoD really gets 9s. Look at Google Trends to see how big IGN is vs its competitors combined. Imagine a world where people can disagree with each other.

I've got a rental car this week, and after more than a decade of exclusively using keyfobs/my phone to start my cars (and using a smart lock at home) it's shocking how hard it is to wrap my brain around using a physical key again.

You want me to put *what?* In *where?*

Again: young people might not realize that this kind of repugnant racism was unacceptable to express publicly, *not that long ago*.

I legit don't think you understand how criticism works and has worked for the past 150+ years.

You might be a child. That would explain a lot.

What are you confused about? I will walk you through it

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

That would be you, the person suggesting that anybody who works for or freelances for a large outlet must be a liar because they all take bribes.

Think about this: how long would it take for someone who was disgruntled to produce receipts?

Not hours, not days. Minutes. And yet... nothing.

I hope you have a good time! It's definitely better than making up lies about people who are just giving you their opinions.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Okay I'm not sure what this has to do with what we were talking about but:

Do you *really* think that the guy who rants about how you can't trust IGN and GameSpot because they're bribed and then does a sponsored stream is someone you should trust? Or are they lying to promote themselves?

Yes, you're clearly mad.

"Docking points" isn't a thing. Games do not start at 10. This is not a math test.

Giving a game "a fair shot" is giving it to someone who likes to play games like that and then asking them if they liked it, and why. Sometimes they will like it, sometimes thy won't.

Yeah, you're literally more pathetic than that because you won't answer a simple question.

Also: a "corporate review" is just some guy who got a job you would kill for. They weren't told to give any game any specific score.

I can go into why this conspiracy theroy is bullshit if you like.

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

I dunno dude, you're very mad about it so I thought you might have some level of intellectual curiosity about it but I guess not.

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

Well then, I can rest easy that I am not the most pathetic person involved in this discussion.

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

I'm retired - "weekend" no longer has any meaning for me.

Nor do I have any loyalty to my former employer. But I to stand up for the integrity of the hard-working reviwers who busted their asses to give you an opinion on a new game.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

What if I told you that this reviewer does actually play games like this, and is not someone who dislikes the genre?

You could figure this out yourself if you Googled him.

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

You're not wrong. It's not great that I do this.

That said: you still haven't answered the question. Are you going to?

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

I literally don't work there anymore. I will almost certainly never work there again, and I have zero fear of retaliation from them.

I stand by what I did when I was there because I did the best I could.

And you did not answer my question.

Interesting thought.

Who is the "right person" to review a video game?

Is it the person who will give it the highest score?

Interesting idea.

Why is it that someone liking a video game less than you do is bad?

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

This is very interesting given that the word "Diana" does not appear in the review at all.

Kinda seems like you're making stuff up to be mad about.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Would it surprise you to learn that this review did not complain that there was "too much cheese"?

Do you think that a joke can get old if it's told over and over again? Maybe it gets less funny each time?

If so, do you think this might explain why this reviewer did not like it very much?
