I've got a rental car this week, and after more than a decade of exclusively using keyfobs/my phone to start my cars (and using a smart lock at home) it's shocking how hard it is to wrap my brain around using a physical key again.
You want me to put *what?* In *where?*

Again: young people might not realize that this kind of repugnant racism was unacceptable to express publicly, *not that long ago*.
I legit don't think you understand how criticism works and has worked for the past 150+ years.
You might be a child. That would explain a lot.
What are you confused about? I will walk you through it
That would be you, the person suggesting that anybody who works for or freelances for a large outlet must be a liar because they all take bribes.
Think about this: how long would it take for someone who was disgruntled to produce receipts?
Not hours, not days. Minutes. And yet... nothing.
I hope you have a good time! It's definitely better than making up lies about people who are just giving you their opinions.
Okay I'm not sure what this has to do with what we were talking about but:
Do you *really* think that the guy who rants about how you can't trust IGN and GameSpot because they're bribed and then does a sponsored stream is someone you should trust? Or are they lying to promote themselves?
Yes, you're clearly mad.
"Docking points" isn't a thing. Games do not start at 10. This is not a math test.
Giving a game "a fair shot" is giving it to someone who likes to play games like that and then asking them if they liked it, and why. Sometimes they will like it, sometimes thy won't.
Yeah, you're literally more pathetic than that because you won't answer a simple question.
Also: a "corporate review" is just some guy who got a job you would kill for. They weren't told to give any game any specific score.
I can go into why this conspiracy theroy is bullshit if you like.
I dunno dude, you're very mad about it so I thought you might have some level of intellectual curiosity about it but I guess not.
Well then, I can rest easy that I am not the most pathetic person involved in this discussion.
I'm retired - "weekend" no longer has any meaning for me.
Nor do I have any loyalty to my former employer. But I to stand up for the integrity of the hard-working reviwers who busted their asses to give you an opinion on a new game.
What if I told you that this reviewer does actually play games like this, and is not someone who dislikes the genre?
You could figure this out yourself if you Googled him.
You're not wrong. It's not great that I do this.
That said: you still haven't answered the question. Are you going to?
I literally don't work there anymore. I will almost certainly never work there again, and I have zero fear of retaliation from them.
I stand by what I did when I was there because I did the best I could.
And you did not answer my question.
Interesting thought.
Who is the "right person" to review a video game?
Is it the person who will give it the highest score?
Interesting idea.
Why is it that someone liking a video game less than you do is bad?
This is very interesting given that the word "Diana" does not appear in the review at all.
Kinda seems like you're making stuff up to be mad about.
Would it surprise you to learn that this review did not complain that there was "too much cheese"?
Do you think that a joke can get old if it's told over and over again? Maybe it gets less funny each time?
If so, do you think this might explain why this reviewer did not like it very much?
They're all just places where people can post whatever they want. All of the same shitty people are allowed to make accounts here.
The difference in the platforms is that some are willing to moderate and others are not.
I tried to solve this problem for more a decade + and came up short. As far as I know, no one else solved it either.
Everybody's doing their dangedest, but nobody has solved the unsolvable problem.
Yes, the audience *could* be a little less hostile. But you don't get to pick your audience.
I think you're talking about social media in general. And you're completely right about it.
The problem with social media is that they'll let any asshole join - which is also the entire point of it.
Well, no. He complained that the joke wore out its welcome. I think that's okay to say?
Fair, but you have to consider building and maintaining an audience. Leading with a reviewer interview would probably turn a lot of folks off.
Have you watched a recent video review? One of the last things I did there was to add reviewer interviews to the end.
Also in the text reviews we added Playlists of the reviewer’s favorites in a given category.
Just gonna say: Nope!
Just nope.
Okay, but what if the hardcore perspective is inherently niche and IGN is trying to talk to a broad audience?
Or - hear me out.
What if, just hypothetically speaking, other people have opinions that are different from yours?
I know it's a wild idea but let's game this out.
I’m saying that is a crazy thing to say.
I just kind of assumed he was one of those weirdos that was in love with a chatbot.
