Fair, I guess there are probably a few thousand essays online for it to feed from. That may signal that it is time to move on from analysing the same books each year. When I was a teacher I taught IT so it changed *a lot* - I was envious of the English dept having a static & dependable curriculum 😅

I was semi agreeing, but I think we need to be better at teaching students why not to use it without it sounding like abstinence. If they understand why it’ll let them down then they won’t use it. One way could be to set assignments that chat bots will get wrong. Break trust in it early.
Students need to have the ability to gain knowledge & understanding nailed before they can learn to properly analyse sources & decide if what they’re reading is right or wrong. Since Ai is still very much guessing what the user wants to hear. It’s functionally useless to someone at that level.
