Interesting article - but I think it’s important to mention the injury crisis at RB, which is a factor in a lot of these decisions.
Hurzeler doesn’t have an available RB that he trusts, so he played a back 3. And with a back 3 you need a winger to defend the flank - hence Adingra not Rutter
Each of these headlines came after a #BHAFC game.
Every week, Brighton fans are subjected to homophobic chants.
This is the reason the rainbow armband exists.
Clubs and players across the league are seemingly questioning the campaign, but do nothing to stop abuse week in week out.
A disappointing result, but here’s something you likely didn’t expect after 13 games: if Liverpool win on Sunday, #BHAFC will be above Manchester City in the table…
If you had to make a 5-a-side team out of the current #BHAFC squad, who would you choose? 🤔
I’ll start us off:
▫️GK: Verbruggen
▫️CB: van Hecke
▫️CM: Baleba
▫️FWD: Mitoma
▫️FWD: Pedro
Expect he’ll have a chance against Southampton if Baleba’s suspension is upheld.
Good opportunity for him to show his quality.
What an impact Joao Pedro has had for #BHAFC since returning from injury ⤵️

🚨🔵 Brighton have made their best start ever to a Premier League season!

50mph winds and heavy rain predicted - the sort of weather that can turn a game into a coin flip! Would be a shame as it could be a really good game if the conditions allow
Throwback to when #BHAFC beat Bournemouth 2-1 at the Withdean in 2001.
Dick Knight cut a giant birthday cake on the pitch at half time to celebrate 100 years of the Albion, and someone called Eddie Howe scored at both ends.

It’s just the players who have played for Brighton in the Premier League since we were promoted in 2017.
Apparently Tug Wilson is top all-time with over 500 league appearances, but Dunk isn’t far behind with 400+ including his League One and Championship appearances.
Which #BHAFC players have the most all-time appearances in the Premier League?
1️⃣ 🏴 Lewis Dunk: 249
2️⃣ 🇩🇪 Pascal Groß: 228
3️⃣ 🏴 Solly March: 182
4️⃣ 🇳🇱 Joel Veltman: 130
5️⃣ 🏴 Adam Webster: 127
6️⃣ 🇦🇺 Matthew Ryan: 121
7️⃣ 🏴 Danny Welbeck: 120
8️⃣ 🇧🇪 Leandro Trossard: 116
9️⃣ 🇨🇮 Yves Bissouma: 112
🔟 🇮🇪 Shane Duffy: 109
Congratulations to #BHAFC winger Simon Adingra for being shortlisted in the final 5 for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Men’s Player of the Year 🌍🏆
Baleba leads three #BHAFC stars in the most improved players list.
Baleba is a superstar in the making.
He is currently the second highest rated player in the Albion squad (Sofascore) and arguably the most important player on the pitch at the moment.
Carlos can defend, dribble and attack - making him a true force to be reckoned with and a rare talent.
Carlos has a 90% pass success rate and ranks 3rd in big chances created among Albion players.
His possession lost per game average is one of the best in the squad, with 13 Brighton players losing the ball more frequently than him.

Baleba is also demonstrating a growing goal threat.
He has 4 goals and assists in all competitions, and ranks 4th for total shots per game (1.8) and shots on target per game (0.6).
He has even mastered the art of a backflip celebration.
Cont ⤵️
But Carlos is not just a great defensive midfielder, he is exceptional on the ball too.
He ranks 4th among Brighton players in successful dribbles per game (1.1) and has the highest successful dribble percentage (67%) of any Albion player.

Following the transfers Bissouma and Caicedo in recent years, Brighton lacked a defensive presence in midfield last season.
This season, Baleba has turned that around.
Baleba leads #BHAFC players in interceptions per game (1.7) and tackles per game (2.4)

If you weren’t one already, this thread will make you a Baleba 🧵
#BHAFC signed Carlos Baleba for €27m from Lille in 2023.
The Cameroonian midfielder, now aged 20, had a mixed first season but has now become one of the most talented young players in Europe.
Let’s take a look at his impact ⤵️
🚨🔵 #BHAFC has the most players ranked in the ‘Top 100 Most Valuable Players Under-21’ in the world! 🌎
No club has more players represented in the list released by the CIES Football Observatory.
Ferguson, Baleba, Minteh, Hinshelwood, Enciso, Gruda and Buonanotte make the list.

8 months ago, #BHAFC faced Roma in the Europa League.
While the result didn’t go in our favour, it was a ‘pinch yourself’ moment for many Brighton fans.
When Roma lifted their 3rd Scudetto at the turn of the century, Brighton were 68th in the English football pyramid.
I think you’re right - we haven’t seen enough of Ferdi at LB, so Pervis should be in there for now.
