Current status: Sitting backwards on a lounge chair in the sun out in the backyard to get the hot side and cold side evened out because I’m too lazy to move it.

He took the thermos of coffee Niobe held out as he passed through the kitchen, ignoring her silent judgment. It was pink, one of those thin, super insulated, classy accessories. The words on it read: "I pretend coffee helps, but I'm still a bitch." He sighed as he followed Gen to the door and called over his shoulder. "Yes, I'll bring it back."

I love the relationship between these characters. It’s so fun to write. 😍

Also, one of my hose splitters must have cracked over the winter because I got my first accidental gardening shower…

Where’s my honey lemon tea?

I’m going on day 4 of not working because I’m sick, and the worst part about it is I can’t write either, or even read much. I’ve scrolled some and watched a lot of tv whilst I moan and complain.

I have ALWAYS held fast to the childlike wonder of my youth, but sometimes I have to be an adult and step in front of it to shield it from the world, so it can hold onto that sparkle.

When I was a little kid my mom used to make those super cheap little pepperoni pizzas for us when we’re sick because she said we could have anything we wanted and we were dumb and just wanted a treat. Now when I’m sick I crave pizza.

You know what I think would be fun? Hearing people read excerpts of my books. What if audiobook narrators could use my books as parts of their promotional schtick and in return they just link to my book sale page so if people like it they can find my book?

I’m sorry. I found @voiceofobrien.bsky.social doing a Caryn monologue on a reel and now I have to say goodbye to my evening writing and editing time to play this game. What’s it about? No idea, but Caryn doesn’t deserve this and I want to hug him.

I once had someone ask to have a story about them, so I wrote about him as a knight that falls into an outhouse and dies only to have the sewer bugs puppet his body into the inn like a zombie and burn it down…

So I might not be the best choice if you want to be memorialized with the typed word.

I’m trying to get my son to record my audiobook. He was thinking about going into voice acting at one point, but shit happened. He keeps threatening to do it as an ASMR. 😅
