I mean I like that I get to see them every other year now, but put that shit in the middle of the summer not opening and closing weekends!

Opening series should always be divisional. The fact that my Royals were playing the Braves on opening weekend (and the only time every two seasons I can see them play in person) is a travesty

They also don't know the pain of having a good team and losing, I hate it

Yea, way too many this year, especially by Tre and Melvin (I think we're ok with just about any shot DP took). Just out of curiosity, what was that breakdown for 21-22 and for 19-20?

Those are the numbers Bill's offense is supposed to produce, at least in 2p%. Dominate inside to make 2s>3s. If we get our bigs back, I expect our 2p% to improve next year. We need to make sure to get floor spacers though. Kohl will need to improve and we probably need to get a shooter in the portal

This year, our major issue was rebounding. We gave up waaaaay too many offensive boards and gave the other team too many extra shots and weren't able to equalize it on the other end. If we just match last years rebounding, we're having a very different conversation right now. fin/

Historically, Bill's press has been pretty good. I would love to see similar principles applied to his half-court defense. But then again, we were excellent defensively this year (top 10 in kenpom), sans the oboards and turnovers, and haven't been outside the top-20 since 2018.

Defensively, he applies the same principles, that at the college level 2s>3s. Hedge ball screens to clog the offense and force contested twos by crashing from the perimeter since you're "ok" giving up a three. I would very much like to see more doubling and an increased emphasis on forcing turnovers

When he does draw up a three, he's looking for wide open looks to mirror that efficiency (the elevator screen, chop, and the flare screens). 3/

He is much more three point adverse because when he has that efficiency inside with a dominant force, it's higher than open 3pt attempts (Doke 3yrs starting: 1.5pt/2ptfg (not including and1s), you'd have to shoot 50% from 3 to match. Flory this year: 1.2pt/2ptfg, need 42.9% from 3 to match that). 2/

I agree that Bill isn't an analytics guy, but I do think his main philosophies kinda are. The point of his high-low offense is to get big defenders out of position and open up easy twos at the rim by another big, usually giving us a PPP advantage when we get that look. 1/

I really don't know how good of a situation UNC is in to go get someone big, but I guess the Bilicheck stuff hasn't blown all the way up yet. I do wonder how concerned they are about that

I'm skeptical of Hoiberg... I think this year is more of a flash in the pan. TJ on the otherhand... though no way ISU let's us take him

Him or Lloyd

Yea I'm not 100% sold on Jacque yet. I think the 5 switching was his call. The two non-top of the list guys I'm most interested in are the SLU and Iowa coaches.

I'd rather fill that spot in the portal over keeping Elmarko. Trying to find someone like Melvin to back up Kinney vs what we'd get out of Elmarko

It seems like he recruits really well, I'm just curious why were underperforming so much (on the womens side that is).
But I don't hate having Jamari back. I don't want Bill to force-feed him minutes if he does just because he's a junior

I wouldn't hate it, but I think it's best he finds somewhere else. I don't think he's got the juice past what we've seen. If we can retain those four and land stokes I think we're in a good spot

Eh they had gotten around Tre, that one was fine

1 month ago 0 0 0 0

The order of who I want back is:
1) Flory
2) Kohl
3) Paul
4) Tiller
After that, I'm less concerned

The dumb part of the strategy was benching Kohl for Elmarko. The rest of it worked (except the first foul, that one was dumb and way too fast)

On the bench...

Should've trusted Kohl. This is on Bill

I do not want Elmarko back, at all

Should've trusted Kohl

Elmarko has to shoot the open three. He's too scared

1 month ago 1 0 1 0

Granted Tiller can't figure out that he cannot leave him

1 month ago 1 0 0 0

31% 3pt shooter has 5 made threes...

How on earth is that over and back??
