Anat Rubin and I co-wrote a story for @calmatters.org about the people behind Sheriff Chad Bianco's "election investigation" -- sovereign citizens, Christian nationalists, and "constitutional sheriffs."

Trump has created a defence crisis for the US. The military has heavily depleted key missile stockpiles during the Iran War, raising concerns about readiness for another major conflict, CNN reports.
One expert warned it has opened “a window of increased vulnerability”.
1/
It’s going to take up to five years to replenish stockpiles due to slow production timelines.

Used up:
* 45% of Precision Strike Missiles
* 50% of THAAD interceptors
* 50% of Patriot air defence missiles
* Tomahawks and long-range missiles down by 20–30%
This creates a “near-term risk” for any conflict with a major power like China.

WARNOCK: What grade would you give the American economy?
WARSH: Well, if i gave a student anything other than an A, the dean would summon me because I would've hurt his self-image
WARNOCK: Consumer confidence is at a record low. That's Americans' grade on the economy
Trump’s words could be considered as a threat to companies that do seek refunds for the tariffs they paid, as would be their right under the Supreme Court’s ruling. In the past, he has praised companies whose executives have cozied up to him or donated large amounts of money. trib.al/dqj7wUV
"Land-based supersonic flight" is an oxymoron from a moron.
If I remember correctly, the Concorde was banned from BOS at a regular route because the takeoffs/landings shattered windows in the high-rises and the noise complaints.
It also didn't make any real money overall.
After taking time to work on her highly anticipated new book, @beyerstein.bsky.social is back with a new piece for the Editorial Board.

And, moments later, Schary (for The Atlantic/Fitzpatrick) filed a consent motion — meaning, agreed upon by all parties — to seal the case. The motion and related documents are not available online.
In Kash Patel's lawsuit against The Atlantic, The Atlantic and Sarah Fitzpatrick are being represented by Davis Wright Tremaine partners Laura Handman (co-chair of the appellate practice) and Alison Schary and associate Meenakshi Krishnan.

"The Supreme Court’s 'shadow docket' [is] a form of expedited review that the conservative justices have since wielded at their convenience to stymie Democratic presidents on the one hand, and, on the other, to give President Donald Trump just about anything he wants."

Using sensitive or classified information to bet on military actions threatens our national security and puts our service members at risk.
That's why I sent a letter to Polymarket demanding the company preserve and disclose all records of these bets.
Oversight Republicans are canceling hearings and hosting “round tables” where there are no rules; no motions or subpoenas allowed; and Democrats can’t call witnesses.
They’re scared that we’ll get to the truth in our Epstein investigation. Well, we won’t stop until we do.
Kash Patel should be seeking help and treatment, not serving as FBI Director.
Amazing how much of Trump's presidency is just blowing up something good that Biden did and then slowly, incompetently, ineffectively trying to recreate it.
Dang, we really should have passed some legislation intended to create a domestic supply chain for these parts & materials! [finger to ear] Dang, we really shouldn't have repealed the legislation we passed intended to create a domestic supply chain for these parts & materials!

"They remember the way ... Mr. Trump imply abandoned a nuclear deal Iran had struck with the Obama admin ... after nearly two years of negotiations. Mr. Trump did not claim that Iran was violating that deal; he simply didn’t like it."

Can we all just agree to never again elect a scumbag like this who will try to illegally make money off his decisions to send or not send our troops into battle? 👇

The Iran war is about oil, but for Donald Trump, it's a war for an even more precious resource, narcissistic supply. He has to best Obama's JCPOA, but he can't because he sends flunkies instead of diplomats. So, we're stuck.

The notion that you can’t be appointed to public office by the Administration without genuflecting to the obvious and odious lie is deeply alarming and, in itself, disqualifying.
This is not just theoretical. The inability to say this truth speaks to a kind of obeisance to a would-be tyrant that poses a real and ongoing threat to constitutional government and makes one unfit for public trust.
