We have six.
We don't teach other sciences
They have similar numbers of specialists in B and C

It's yet another strain on schools, but it is important to make the work place attractive.

People generally prefer to teach within their specialism

A really really really old joke
I first read it by Alan Moore, it's even older than that though

Same here. And when we return we have to fill in a form to say why

Some people abuse the system for paid leave Im sure. But if it's unpaid leave, why would anyone say no?

What do you put in the form : "reason for absence"?

9 months ago 0 0 1 0

It's the same in other industries. Depends on the individual manager and company in my experience. And how difficult someone is to replace.

my employer was brilliant when I had covid and longcovid. Long term sick leave, staged return to work, flexible when it got too much, time off to attend clinic. Repeated checks when I returned full time.

Absolutely. I haven't found out what HR do with all the information.

I guess nothing until redundancies are on the horizon

The Bradford factor

We still have to fill in a form with the reason and that's reported with a web site that gives a score, red/amber/green and pie chart for the type of absence

Just a Theory? I wrote and produced this animation at the Royal Institution to tackle the common misconception that a scientific theory is simply a guess.

Colleague of mine will be using this in his teaching today - said it’s one of his all-time top 5 science videos on YouTube, which is quite the compliment: alomshaha.com/portfolio/ju...
