For the latest edition of @edutopia.org's tech newsletter The Wired Classroom, I joined the masterful @stephenmerrill.bsky.social to make the case for one tool worth rediscovering. 👀
Hard to describe what an honor it is to share a byline w/ someone I look up to this much! 🤯✨
Question from Paige Tutt, Edutopia Editor: What big topics or themes in education dominated your thinking this school year?
To close out the school year, @tatertutt.bsky.social gets to do something she loves to do: turn to all of you!
Each year, for our annual roundup, we ask: What’s been on your mind this school year?
Share your thoughts in our community forum: https://edut.to/4cgNCFR
I know what I'm reading later on tonight 👀
Love this, Brett! 🔥 Curious if any newer poems have found their way onto your list of favorites?
Or if there's a classic poem that students respond well to year after year?
Well, I'm not surprised, but engagement with this @edutopia.org Jam Session on AI has been pretty amazing so far. I'm jamming and sharing and learning lots.
Join us, now through Saturday!

For several summers as a kid, my mom put me in theater camp.
Acting class, vocal & dance lessons, plus.. improv 🫠
I HATED standing in front of everyone, thinking on the fly. Dreaded it.
Those uncomfortable moments built something I didn’t expect, though: confidence.
My latest for @edutopia.org:
PLEASE you flatter me haha 🫣 but seriously thank you! I have taken so much inspiration from you over the years. It is an honor to have you view a piece of my work as highly as I value yours.
I scrolled ALL the way back on your feed just to tell you I read this Substack post last night and it really sparked something for me, so thank you so much for writing it! 💡✨
Thank you so much for the kind words and reading the piece. Appreciate it!
Do they have a favorite one of his books? Would love to know!
Thanks so much for giving it a read!
Thank you for reading!! 💫
On a very hot day in June, I took a risk. I made a beeline to the front of the room at ISTE so I could shake hands w/ Jason Reynolds.
Nervously, I blurted out, "I know you have to leave, but my editor would never forgive me if I didn't ask to interview you."
My latest for @edutopia.org:
One thing (of many) that I 🧡 about the @edutopia.org community: Educators always show up to support each other. 🫂
I asked who are the MUST-follow voices in education online. Over *700* comments FILLED w/ recommendations across our channels (Facebook, Instagram, + our Ask & Answer forum) 🤯
Five years ago, my editor gave me a list of essential voices in education to follow online.
Since then, SO many new ones have shaped my perspective and challenged my thinking.
Now, we're crowdsourcing an updated version to share:
Who do YOU consider a must-follow voice in education? 👀
Love when I get to speak to my younger self through my work. 💗
This one is dedicated to the little girl who used to throw her hands up and declare she was *bad at math* when she got stuck on something. Still not great at math to be fair 😅, but much more resilient. 💪
My latest for @edutopia.org:
I was hoping I'd get a rec from you! I just bookmarked a book you shared recently to check out: Escape, Stephen Fishbach. Anything about reality TV, I'm in. Thanks so much 💫
Open to any other recs you might have, @covingtonedu.bsky.social!
You’re always having students grapple with such meaty, interesting questions in your classroom! Curious to see how this evolves!
One of the things I love about working at @edutopia.org: to write about education well, i need to stay current and consider a number of varying perspectives.
Just started @biblioracle.bsky.social’s book! Couple chapters in, learning a ton, taking a lot of notes!
Would love any other book recs!
🥳🥳🥳
Thanks for sharing! It’s funny - I saw you present at FETC recently and made a note to myself that I wanted to send you an email. Haven’t had the chance to do that yet. Then one of the first notifications I get today was from you!
@dylanpkane.bsky.social this was a really fascinating read! Would love to chat with you a bit more about it. Is there a good email to reach you with, by chance?
Mine is paige.tutt@edutopia.org
At the expense of sounding like a broken record, I cannot thank you all enough! 💫
Every educator who shares their insights through interviews; who pitches/writes these stories; who sees my email in their inbox w/ a pitch & agrees to write it!
This is a powerful community we're building together 🧡
It has been my pride and joy to steward @edutopia.org's free tech newsletter, The Wired Classroom, w/ @tfberger.bsky.social:
This week we hit *60 thousand subscribers* 🥳
This newsletter would NOT go out every month without the hard work and dedication of each and every educator who writes for us.
I deeply appreciate & admire the care & ingenuity you bring to this work. It truly inspires me! So much of my compass on innovative best practice is shaped by what you do in your classroom. Thank you for being so generous over the years, I look forward to many more years learning from you! 🧡
Thanks so much, Jorge!
Was such a pleasure meeting you and your wife in Orlando! I'm hoping we'll get an opportunity to collaborate on something soon 👀💡💫
To all the educators I have not yet met, I am looking forward to shaking your hand and working together soon! 🤝
Thank you in advance for all that you do.
P.S. - shout out to my mom, who isn't on Bluesky. 30+ years as an educator. I would not have found my way to this work without you 🫂
I'd love to send a special thanks to @cathleenbeachbd.bsky.social: the *FIRST* person I ever interviewed here five years ago.
I cannot say enough about what a guiding light she is. When you see someone who does this work with their whole entire heart, you can't help but be inspired to do the same.
Today marks 5 years of me working at @edutopia.org! 🤯
5 years of sharing what works in education. Could NOT do this without the help of so many extraordinary educators at all levels who give me their time & insights to blast out into the eduworld. Wish I could tag everyone.
Thank YOU most of all 🧡
