As of today, I am a FULL professor. I do not care much for occupational status markers. Still, it is not lost on me that only 2% of full professors are Black women. This goes beyond personal accomplishment. It is a responsibility to do as much as I can for others. That is exactly what I aim to do.

My original thought was it’s a horror that Trump is in office for America’s 250th anniversary. Now I’m pleased that we will be reminded by our founders every day in 2026 that they fought to free themselves from a tyrannical despot and we must, too.

I loved that show back in the day! Used to watch with my dad when we were both home sick from work/school.
