Two homemade signs stuck in a planter. One says "We miss Scritchy" and has a drawing of a raccoon's face. Another says "Justice 4 Scritchy!"

Big turnout for Scritchy the Raccone's memorial service at the Harvard/Allan diverter this afternoon. @katynotie.bsky.social delivered a moving eulogy before mourners observed a moment of silence. #BikeHfx

Well, it's nice that it's open again, but the restrictions are ridiculous. No drawing! No writing! No BLM shirts! They're terrified of public expression, and they hate what artists like Sara Hartland-Rowe can illuminate:

Deploy the raccoon!

A new front in #PylonWars has opened up & it is darn cute.

A good likeness to our bike mayor too @seebo429.bsky.social

FRIDAY. NOON. PROVINCE HOUSE.
ALL HANDS ON DECK: WE WON'T STOP SINGING!

We've been thousands strong before. Can we grow even more, and surround the whole building with song?

A funny thing to do would be adding a second sign saying "No Putting Down Concrete Barriers" with maybe some excerpts from the 2024 provincial and municipal removal orders

NOTICE TO OUR COMMUNITY
Update on Provincial Program Funding
Kwe' to our community in Kjipuktuk and across Mi'kma'ki.
Over the past day there have been announcements that the Province of Nova Scotia has restored funding to a number of community programs.
We want to clarify that the Mikmaw Native Friendship Centre programs previously identified as facing reductions remain affected at this time.
The following programs have not had their funding restored:
• Family Resource Program
• Youth Outreach Program
• A Place to Belong Program
• Funding previously received through L'nu Affairs
We are grateful to see support reinstated for organizations and services that are important to many L'nu & Nova Scotians generally. However, our program funding has not been reinstated. Critical preventative supports for Indigenous youth and families - including justice system navigation, family support services, and work that helps address and prevent domestic violence - still remain in question and at risk.
As previously shared, the loss of this funding means we continue to face staff layoffs and reduced service capacity, which places additional strain on the remaining programs and services delivered by the Centre.
We remain committed to advocating for the restoration of these critical supports and will continue to keep our community informed.
Wela'lioq for your continued trust.

POV: You're a Nova Scotian and you can't make it out to rallies, can't make phone calls, etc. But you still want to stick it to Tim Houston because he's a trash person with trash policies.

These budget cuts are not the way forward.

Protest signs wedged in the fence outside the NS Legislature read 'Farewell to Nova Scotia, the arts are toast' 'Put the tolls back MORON' 'Tiny Tim is in his scrooge era' 'save our stories' 'Houston Pennywise, pound foolish' (with drawing of Pennywise the clown), 'Dave Ritcey, why do you betray your home?' 'If the dancers aren't funded the dancers will leave', 'I've heard of "cancel culture" but this is ridiculous' and an empty frame reading 'poster no longer available due to cuts'

It was so heartening to join the protest at Province House and see how big and diverse the crowd was. I hate that we have to do it, but I loved to see how many people care about our province.

Fun fact: bridge toll removal and 1% HST reduction cost us appx $300 million.

All of the devastating cuts in the current budget?

$300 million.

Is your 1% HST cut worth the loss of tourism, arts & culture, educational quality and wildlife conservation in NS?
