And like ... yeah we should be able to question and reject if need be. But some things take time to understand. But to rationalists that seems like epistemic deference, which they're allergic to.

OpenAI and Anthropic have a lot of rationalists. A core part of the "rationalist" movement is the right of any person, no matter how ignorant of a field, to reject the views of experts, as long as that person obeys the epistemic rules of the rationalist crew.
