Doctors express “grave concerns” at GMC action after GP is suspended over laptop claim A GP has been suspended for a month after it was ruled that she had exaggerated what she had been told by a senior doctor when making a request for a laptop and that this amounted to dishonesty.1 The...

The GMC is a wild regulator. They suspended a GP for dishonesty for getting a work laptop to do her work on. doi.org/10.1136/bmj....

But leave this guy to practice without censure having left an anaesthetised patient for his own gratification.

The worrying thing is people in power are listening to these tech bros and believing them.

They only financially make sense with one consultant supervising 3 AAs. I haven't worked at a hospital that could regularly produce 6 lists a day with only ASA 1/2 Patients and put them in theatres near enough to each other to make that work.

I start most people on 0.5 to see what happens. If they stop talking and close their eyes then about 2 is a good starting point. If they don't even notice it's probably 3.5+. I use a decent amount of fentanyl bolus for most cases and run remi at 2-3 as propofol sparing adjunct.

I moved to eleveld 18 months ago. I really like it. I find numbers needed more consistent between patients. Did find they were getting a little light after an hour and a half though. But always use sedline. Try to always use it for remi too.

I've been watching Jonathan through med schl for 3 yrs. I turned over stones bc, like a lot, wonder if the real deal. I asked him to post student ID, he did. His schl acknowledged his existence, but shrugged. He wanted help w/research, he showed up. He graduated, I watched that. #TooLegitToQuit

People often talk about the time critical nature of sepsis. But it may surprise you to hear that the evidence to support “early” antibiotics actually isn't a settled debate. Why is that? The key question is “early in relation to what”? 🧵 1/n

Seen a few families in ITU a week later seriously regretting what the pushed for "they wouldn't have wanted THIS". It's a failure of us to explain the misery and futility of a lot of what we can do.
