Just posted on my blog a broad overview of what needs to be done and who we can learn from to deliver social housing here in Travis County to lower rents and ensure everyone has a roof over their head. Go give it a read!

Hey y’all! We are just one day left from our first campaign finance deadline where we report all of our donations recieved. If we want to show Austin that we are ready for progressive change that makes an affordable county for all of us, we need you to chip in before tonight at midnight.
To break down that barrier and encourage everyone to participate in our democracy.
To build the mass socialist movement we need, one that must encompass everyone, and will come through the democratic road to socialism.
We don't want to be tokenized anymore and put into an acceptability box, only to be punished when we fight harder or in a way that makes people uncomfortable.
That's why I'm running.
Young people are people too, and if everyone deserves representation in a democracy, so do we.
We deserve to have our voices heard and our presence respected.
This is cringe. I appreciate that Brigid Shea is supporting "these people" (she means immigrants). But her life is so whitebread that she only knows immigrants as servants.
We need to recognize that this moment demands vision and action, not incremental 'progressive' reform that won't change the lives of everyday Austinites. It's time we put the affordability and quality of life of residents first - not Real Estate and corporations.
Only 1 candidate in this race is committed to building democratic socialism: a vision for the economy that puts working people first and makes Travis County affordable for the people who built it.
"Masked security forces captured an opposition leader in the coastal province of New Jersey as regime officials continue their months-long crack-down against pro-democracy elements in the embattled United States. The arrest comes as the regime issued calls for summary detentions without trial."
We are building a movement for the working class of Travis County to make this county affordable for the people that make it run instead of keeping housing out of reach to inflate property values. Tenants in Acacia Cliffs are being displaced off the backs of greedy landlords converting to luxury apartments.
The Housing Authority of Travis County needs to step up and purchase Acacia Cliffs to stop this conversion and put it into community control.
Tracker of school board election results showing 13 in green (good), 2 in white (mixed), and 5 in red (bad).
And here’s how my tracker looks right now. That’s a lot of green!
this one goes out to my landlord 😏

Wrinkled disability pride flag hanging vertically with the red stripe on the left and two gromets on the top corners on a lightly saturated sea foam green wall with a lamp encroaching slightly on the bottom right. Window trim slightly visible on the right hand edge of the frame, not covering the flag.
Just acquired a disability pride flag for my room! (cc @sarajw)
Photo of the print edition of the New York Times opened to an article about Zohran’s big fundraising numbers.
Always exciting to see it in print 📰
Lying down and playing dead might (and that’s a strong might) win one election, but it will absolutely lose in the long run.

Hey y'all - We are getting very close to our field launch, and we need to raise a couple hundred more dollars to be able to sustain these efforts and purchase supplies. So if you could head over to secure.actblue.com/donate/reese and pitch in $25 now that would be amazing! --reese

The end of year budget numbers are in and...DSA has ended 2024 with a $1 million surplus.
We need to start treating student organizers like people. Stop putting them in a box of only organizing “young people” and only treat their experience with minimal value unless they have a win in the press. We don’t force retirees to only do retiree organizing, why do we do this to students? We […]
